Natures Creation Tejas Green Sand

The name and color are derived from the presence of the mineral glauconite. Glauconite is an iron of potassium silciate formed from ancient sea bed deposits. Unlike other seddimentary minerals. Tejas Green Sand was formed from anoxic (oxygen depleted) wwaters with lots of organic matter and very little imput from rivers or other common soources of sediment. Tejas green sand is mined from areas thar were under water millions of years ago. Although its physical structure is sedimentary, rather than volcanic in orgin, tejas green sand is very porus with great moisture holding capacity annd remains friable without compacting. Millons of tons of greensand have been and spread since the 19th century. Annuals & Perenials: Apply Lava Sand at the rate of 40 lbs. per 1,000 square feet of existing area or area to be planted.

Expanded Shale 

Is a natural soil amendment (Haydite) that loosens compacted soil, improves aeration and drainage and assists in retaining moisture. The results are healthier and more extensive root syatems. Expanded Shale is mined, crushed and kiln fired ("popcorned") ti create 1/4 to 1/8 inch lightweight particlesof hard inert rock material. Expanded Shale is highly porous and is able to hold air as it maintains over 30% air space. It also absorbs over 35%  of its weightin moisture whixj is slowly released to the surrounding environment. Expanded Shale lossens heavy clay soil by increasing soil porosity and helps aerate sandy soil. Our product does not decompose and will last for years.
