Really Robust
We bought this so we can slide 2x4s under the top of a portable specialty bar we made and secure two extensions. They are very robust and heavy-gauge, so you can use them as handles if you need to. 2x4s can vary some in size and finish, so there is a small amount of wiggle-room. If that bothers you, you can use a shim to tighten it up - these are strong enough to do that with.
