Rated 1 out of 5 by from Fine until it rips Fine and sturdy, but like others said happen, after using for a while (I weigh 190) the canvas began to RIP down the side. If you purchase this, lie absolutely stil, do not dit up in it or in and do not concentrate your weight in any one area, even when getting on it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Hinge Rivet Broke Off Hinge rivet broke off after 1st time used. Not sure if there's a repair solution. It's a shame because the cot is comfortable, but it should not have broken after 1st time used. Also, I'm well under the weight capacity and did not abuse the product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Cots at Icredible Price We just bought three of these. The negative reviews here which complain of tearing fabric or other failures seem very hard. If these cots ever had those issues Coleman has listened to the feedback and improved the stitching or material. These cots are incredibly strong and I just cant imagine someone twice my weight ever causing a failure. They are so strong in fact, they are on the heavy side. Heavy steel and canvas. If the carry weight is a concern, spend extra money for aluminum frames cots. But for the price, there is just no better cot with great long life potential. Thanks Coleman for giving my family the ability to camp with great gear at very good prices.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor Quality I purchased my Trailhead II cot in June 2017 and only used it 3 times. I just recently took it out of the bag and it had a small tear along the seam in the middle if the cot. I laid down on the cot and the tear went up the side along the seam. I know it's been almost 3 years since I purchased the cot but I figured it should have lasted longer than this with only 3 nights of camping with it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Use a "Wrecker Bar" for Ease of Assembly There are two chief complaints about this cot in these reviews: it ripped after only a few uses, and it's impossible to assemble. Actually, the two are related because the people whose cots ripped are the ones who gave up trying to assemble it and slept on it without pulling both support bars tight, which is serviceable. But with the fabric only loosely wrapped around the frame without the crossbars, it's easy to tear it on the steel frame when you shift your weight in the night. Not so once the end bars are in place. Then the fabric's so tight you can bounce quarters off it. I'm telling you: assemble the cot properly, and it's never going to rip. Therein lies the problem -- how to get those end bars in place. Trying to put them in by hand can seem impossible -- especially when the cot is brand new and the fabric has never been stretched before. As one reviewer said, you can have several people pulling with all their might and never get anywhere. My sympathies go out! Salvation comes in the form of a handy little device called a "wrecker bar," which is really just a small crowbar -- a flat steel bar with a curved end about the size of a large hammer. You can probably pick one up for a couple bucks at any hardware store. If you put one peg of the crossbar in place and insert the pry bar between the other end of the crossbar and the frame, you can lever the 2nd peg into place easily by yourself. Just watch your fingers!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Cross bar nightmare. Cot is comfortable. I gave it 3 stars because the cross bars are almost impossible to get in. The fabric really doesn't need to be that tight. I had to use a prybar to install the second one.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great cot for car camping but hard to assemble! I'm working on my second season with this cot. It is very sturdy and wide. I like the 17" height which is perfect for strapping up boots in the fall and winter. The cot is very supportive and I've used various mats on it for added comfort. The one downside of this mat is the difficulty with assembly. Getting the 4th anchor point on the cross beams to lock into position is very difficult and it becomes more difficult in colder conditions. Overall I'm very pleased with its performance and durability and I've slept 60+ nights on it over the past two seasons. Check out my video review on my YouTube cChannel Lone Crow Adventures!
