Rated 5 out of 5 by from I recently bought 2 of these toilets to replace my original ones that were 32 years old. One was busted in the box when I got it home but went and changed it right away. They are both working very well and have a nice forceful flush. Great value and a great product.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good flushing action, horrible seat design My new Cadet 3 tall toilets were installed just a few days ago. I bought one elongated and one round bowl type. I decided on this toilet based on reviews which mainly complimented the flushing ability. There are many types of American Standard toilets to choose from that are water savers and have good flushing mechanisms. However, these are the most uncomfortable toilets! In my opinion, American Standard needs to discontinue putting this type of seat/lid on these toilets. My daughter just purchased two elongated American Standard tall toilets in another style and hers do not have this awful seat design on them. On the round bowl, the connector which makes the lid a "easy close" has a huge bump across the back, which forces you to sit forward on the toilet. I can't imagine a larger person being able to use this seat design. I'm an average size person. As far as the elongated Cadet 3 Right Height Toilet, the seat/lid that comes on this one is the same "easy close" lid. The seat on this toilet, is sunk down in the middle and has a ridge around the rim, which cuts into the back of your legs. When you go through the expense of purchasing new toilets, and pay a contractor to install them, I feel you shouldn't need to purchase new toilet seats right off the bat. I am on a fixed income and very disappointed. I like the American Standard brand. I like that these toilets are space-savers and water efficient. However, unless you want to go out and buy new seats right off the bat, choose a different one, without the "easy close" seat/lid design - horrible!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works great! Bought almost a year ago and have had few problems. Scored 1000 out of possible 1000 points on flush tests. Has only backed up a few times and uses 63% less water than previous 1980s toilet and was eligible for a local water dept. rebate!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Toilet tank cracked at handle Toilet tank cracked at the handle as has been noted in other reviews on various sites. It was cheaper to buy a new toilet. I only had the toilet 3 years.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Actually does what a toilet is supposed to do. When we remodeled the whole house several years ago 3 toilets were installed in 3 bath rooms. Of the 3 one was installed by contractors that I did not have time to look at. Of course this one never worked very well from day one and got worse as time went on. Would not flush properly, unable to find parts as it had been discontinued, etc. Basically designed very poorly. I finally had enough and decided to replace the defective toilet. I researched different brands and decided on the American Standard-Cadet 3 Right Height Elongated 1.28 gpf Toilet. WHY DID I WAIT SO LONG? This toilet has worked flawlessly since I installed it. Straight forward installation and instructions that come with the toilet. For the other folks dealing with a problem toilet and putting off replacing it I highly recommend checking out the American Standards toilets for that replacement. You will be glad you did.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Very uncomfortable seat. In 78 years I have used may thousands of toilets. This is the most uncomfortable I have ever used. Given the breadth of available toilets I recommend that you pass on this one.
