Perfect size and durable.

compact, durable
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is one of many Bosch tools in my utility bed truck that we use everyday. Bulldog hammer drills, battery powered skill saw, grinders and many driver drills like this one. We use them almost every day. Nothing runs forever but Bosch tools hold up better for us than any of the other brands, especially Dewalt and Mikita.

Love love love

Great until very recently.

The chuck does not tighten enough and I’ve even dropped a few bits, messing up a couple. It’s still works. Has decent power and the batteries last a long while.

Disappointing
I got this about 4 years ago for light projects and haven’t used it much because it’s only good for driving screws and drilling very small holes. It takes at least 15 minutes to drill a 5/16” hole. I learned too late that it doesn’t do the jobs I need it for. I wish I had bought a more powerful tool or at least returned this one, but I’m such an occasional user that it took this long to realize its limitations.

Excellent tool and value
I purchased this drill at the recommendation of our facilities team at our church. Lightweight super powerful and great value. Excited to use it as the number one tool for the rest of my life. I have been using my porter cable electric since I was 25 and I am now 60, expecting the Bosch to be with me to the finish line.

Compact & Powerful
For small jobs, the PS-31 drill is a good substitute for a pneumatic drill and I don't have to drag an air line. I'm surprised at the torque from 12 volts and really surprised by the long battery life. The tool is comfortable in the hand, compact and easily maneuvered. The only complaint I have is the keyless chuck. I think I have more than average grip strength and can't get the chuck tight enough to keep it from spinning if the drill sticks.

Small size, fits where others wont
Got this a couple days ago. I have several 20v drills but I often have situations where they are too big to fit in the available space. With its small size and small battery, this 12v Bosch fills the bill. Not as much power or endurance, but handy when needed.

got tired of larger drills.
although not a light weight, this drill can get in narrower spots then my older drill. its built in light is handy in dark corners. the extra battery is just waiting to replace the one in the drill. best deal i've gotten in years. the kit w/bags, road ready!!!

Nice, Small, Compact Drill, But .........
Very nice, very small, powerful compact drill, but I have three (2) problems with it, as follows :
1) Once the battery is inserted & "snapped" into the handle, it is "extremely" difficult to compress the two battery tabs in order to remove the battery. I much prefer the small 12v Ridgid drill, that has a battery with one (1) large release tab.
2) The ribs on the chuck are not stout/pronounced enough, thereby allowing your hand to loose its grip on the clutch while trying to tighten a brill bit.
Had Bosch engineers & production line folks corrected these flaws years ago, I would definitely rate it at 5 Stars. Hopefully Bosch has corrected these flaws with their newer PS32 drill.

Great Drill
I purchased this as a combo set with the Impact Driver. I did some pretty extensive research comparing various reviews, in store comparisons and cost. The Bosch was reasonably priced and met my needs as DIY. I selected the 12v as I do not use the tools on an every day basis and the tools fit well in your hands and is well balanced. The drill and impact driver also have a battery level indicator which is handy. They feel well built, sturdy and have rubber non slip grips. The set also comes with a nice carry bag that is compact and protects your tools. For my money, I think the Bosch is a great set, they will get into tighter areas and are well built. I think this set offers a lot of features, good battery life and saves you some money in the process.

I've owned this for about a year - Battery life is good and it's size allows me to get into much tighter places than I'm able to with my 18v.
