Good tool ... but
It would appear from all the other reviews that this is a good tool until the handle breaks. I had the same problem as other reviewers. The description say ‘ High-impact polymer handle holds up to heavy use’ ... it doesn’t ... clearly.
Having said that, customer service were very good and they are sending me a new one without any quibbles.
Fortunately, I’ve made a new handle from a piece of timber so I’ll have one surform for ‘heavy use’ and the replacement for everything else!

Poor Handle
This tool worked for about 5 min. The handle is hollow plastic held in with one screw that does not go through the length of the handle. The handle came right off and could have caused a puncture wound to my right hand. This handle should not be hollow. Instead a bolt should run the length of a solid molded handle and be secured from the bottom and the top. This would fix the problem.

Good tool, handle is weak and poorly designed.
I bought this tool to trim the front door that was hard to close. The first few passes were great! The handle broke off before finishing the door however. The tool still works but is a pain in the rear to use now. Not recommended until handle is redesigned.

Works well - poor build quality on plastic handle
Works very well at shaving various surfaces but plastic handle broke off and spares can not be found so tool is now pretty useless.
