Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great product, needs some app work I picked up one of these in a big box store yesterday for smoking a couple of very large briskets. The hub was easy to set up and configure. If you use the predefined programing the app assumes product weight for you. The app brisket weight was 14-16 pound. Mine were 18 and 21 pounds. That drastically changes the cooking time. There is no way to change the weight of what you are cooking. There are no physical buttons for turning the unit on and no indication of where the hidden button is located. I think the ambient temperature probe should be probe one. While rechargeable batteries are convenient, when doing a long smoke the battery will not last. My briskets has to cook for 16+ hours. I had to connect a charger. There is no charging adapter, only a USB cable.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poorly designed. Minimal advantages Don’t waste your money. Weber isn’t a tech company and it shows. The app has numerous UX issues. I feel like it was made by an engineering intern who tricked some vp into letting him do design work. There are so many inconveniences that I just use a standard meat thermometer

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Love it except one huge issue I bought the connect about a month ago because I am not confident in grilling. I alway worry about not getting meat done to the right temp and needed help. This is everything I needed to build my confidence. Mission accomplished! I have grilled multiple steaks with multiple do requests at the same time with no stress because of this device. The grill heat probe was an eye opener. The difference between the surface temp and the temp on the lid temp gauge was significant. The heat probe has made a huge difference for me. The problem for me is that “turning off” the connect does not TURN OFF the connect. The battery continues to drain until it’s dead. I grilled two nights ago with it fully charged. Turned it off as Weber says and this morning it was completely dead. I have to make sure I know we are grilling so I can pre-charge it. It can’t be a last minute decision. If not for the battery drainage issue I would have given it 5 stars. As of now, I wish I would have ought a replaceable battery version where I could just pull the batteries to conserve. Photo is my morning charge of the device.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product Purchased this model to replace the igrill model from Weber. This one is way more advanced and tech smart. What I really like is it has wifi capabilities that allow me to monitor food temps from anywhere. The initial setup was alittle aggravating trying to connect to my smart phone but I believe that was due to the required update on the initial power up. I do think the price point is a little high with only one meat probe. but if you are looking for precision in your cook times this is the device for you regardless of having to make additional purchases. With this device so far I have perfected whole chickens, ribs, Boston butts and a few briskets all on a electric smoker. If your looking for precision temperature monitoring for your smoker this is the device for you.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Ambient or Grill Temperature Readings Inconsistent I am using the Connect Smart Hub with my Weber Summit 670 grill. I placed the ambient probe in the indirect cooking area. The built-in temperature gauge on the Summit grill registered at 550 degrees while the ambient probe registered around 375 degrees. I was looking to grill at 450 degrees. This HUGE inconsistency made it impossible to determine the temperature inside the grill. I don't know if the Weber built-in gauge is faulty or if the Weber Connect ambient probe is faulty. Also, with the meat probe, I always need to reposition the probe AFTER receiving the "done" temperature alert. I am inserting the probe into the correct location on the various cuts of meat. When I reposition it, the temperature read is consistently lower and the food is not done. I then wait until it reaches the target temperature alert once again. The end result is doneness of the meat is usually great after the 2nd reading.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Horrible instructions the start up instructions are horrible. there is no reason not to have easier to understand directions on start up.
