Perfect bag salt spreader for our Farm Driveway
We used vehicles with mechanical spreaders for years but seems more economical for us and less upkeep using these sturdy built hand push spreaders to pre-salt our drives prior to storm arrival to break the bond! Works perfectly for us here in state of PA - Chapin 82088B is a pro-series type spreader

A Great Ice Melt Spreader
I have a 300 foot long driveway, plus a large turning area by the garages. I don’t know how I managed all these years without the 82088 Professional spreader. I didn’t! I can take an 80-pound bag of ice melt, empty it into the hopper and off I go. The full baffle system puts the ice melt on the driveway where it needs to go. The sturdy frame easily supports the 80 pound load and the treaded pneumatic tires absorb the weight and provide excellent traction. As a bonus, the rain cover keeps out unwanted moisture. This spreader makes the job easier to maintain a safe, accessible driveway to and from the house when winter weather gets ugly.

Heavy duty!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We finally got about 10 inches of snow and got to try this out! We live on a hill, with a dirt/stone driveway that gets icy as the snow melts. My husband just loved this when he used it, because it was effortless.
It comes in a large box and when you open it, you know at first glance that it's durable and not flimsy plastic. There are metal parts and heavy plastic pieces. I had my son in law, who is a mechanic put this together for us. He did say he thought the directions should have been clearer, but he got it together probably in an hour. The tires are large and maneuver easily on uneven ground. The hopper will hold an 80 lb bag of salt, and scatter it in a thin layer on the ground. My husband used to toss salt by hand or with one of the hand held salt spreaders, but he said this is by far the easiest. It only took 2 passes to cover the whole driveway, one down and one back up. He said the salt spread in a thin layer with a large area covered in just one pass. He was done in half the time he usually is. It moved easily and the baffles will adjust so you can spread the salt farther or in a smaller area if you have a walkway, etc that isn't as wide.
The salt did not clump because of the auger that spins and turns the salt to spread it. It also has a cover that you can use to keep the salt from getting wet, or for storage to keep clean. We have been storing in the basement, but would be fine in an outdoor garage.
We were impressed with the first use and how easy it was to move around and how it spread the salt.
It is made in the USA which is a big plus for us, as we try to buy products made in America. We will look for other Chapin products because of this. It also has an unheard of 5 year warranty, and an 800 number right on the front page. Also unique was on the instruction book itself, it was stamped with a received of date and also inspected by, with a number. I thought this was something that was important, and should I have any issues, those 2 things would help if I needed to call for a claim.

Sturdy Build!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It took about one and a half hours to assemble this salt spreader. We ended up with an extra clip and screw, so not sure if we missed something or they were extra! We haven't had a heavy snow but we did have about four inches and the large tires made it easy to push around and maneuver. Our previous spreader had a plastic gauge adjustment and the handle broke. This one has a metal one so we were happy about that!

Greatest quality!

This spreader is so much better than my previous one. Love the large capacity, higher handles and better bigger wheels. It’s saves so much time to spread salt around the property!

Easy to push
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Once we got the spreader put together I have to I was very impressed with the quality of it. The heavy duty body and the rugged tires put together make this thing a beast. We have a horseshoe driveway and this is going to make spreading salt a lot easier. No more running back for additional small bags to fill our little spreader. It has an adjustable gate opening for spreading the salt in a wider area and a spiked pattern auger to break up clumps so you don't have to stop and break up those chunks you sometimes get in bags. It even comes with a nice cover for when you're storing it.

Durable salt spreader
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received my salt spreader last week but luckily haven’t had to use it yet! This salt spreader is very durable and heavy duty. My husband was able to easily assemble the spreader in a few minutes. I would have no problem suggesting this spreader to those looking to purchase a heavy duty industrial salt spreader.

This will get the job done!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Very pleased with this spreader. It took by about an hour to put together. The directions were off in parts, I’m guessing because they were for multiple models.
Pros: large capacity, storage cover, sturdy, adjustable baffles
Cons: besides time to put together, none.
