Rated 1 out of 5 by Bblaze from NOPE!!! Repotted using Miracle gro potting mix moisture control and I started seeing fungus literally the first week. I was being lazy and didn’t go to my local nursery where they mix my soil for me. Repotting again ASAP and hope my plant survives.

Rated 1 out of 5 by NanaX4 from Such a disappointment! I am a die hard Miracle Gro user BUT the current product was not up to usual standards. Each pot has/had mold on top, hard surface and my plants suffered and some died! My herb barrel produced the poorest crop ever! So sad.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Bruce from Used to be Best but now slowly kills plants I used to regard Miracle-gro moisture control as the gold standard and worth every penny of the premium price. After purchasing 7 bags this season I notice all my health seedlings and plants that were potted to this mix start rotting and bizarre browning on leaves. Also green algae seems to grow on the tops all the pots with this mix. I suspect they changed the formulation to include much more cheaper peat moss and reduced the aerating elements such as perlite as I can’t see any in the mix anymore. The result a very swampy wet mix that will rot everything that goes into it. This mix is this kiss of death. I never had issues with the product until this year. And I wasted a lot of money and killed a lot of gorgeous seedlings that flourished prior to being potted in this mix. I’m returning my unused bags and will never purchase this again. I am a horticultural expert so this product failure was very disappointing as I loved this product for many years.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Mgriff from Beware-horrible product I replanted a plant I had for over 5 years. A gift from my deceased mother-in law. And I have taken care of it as I always have. I went to move it because I am watching it slowly die. I decided to take it outside as a last hole to have it survive and because it is so huge I tipped it and all this gnats came flying out. Literally infested. I am horrified. I looked at 2 other plants I have used this product on and they have an orange fungus growing. Please do not use .

Rated 1 out of 5 by NickH from Horrible source of fungus gnats Used this soil to up-pot all my indoor container plants. What a mistake! I've been spending so much time since then to try and control fungus gnats. Purchased the bag from a local big-box store. Sticky trap in the bag with the remaining soil has caught so many adults.

Rated 1 out of 5 by M curr from Crappiest potting mix ever! This soil sucks, I wouldn't even give it one star! I guess if you like watering your house plants daily and they still dry out and die this would work for you. This should be marketed as a cactus soil. I have over 50 house plants that I now need to report because this soil sucks so much! Don't waste your money!

Rated 2 out of 5 by Anonymous from Uneven moisture Have been using Miracle Gro moisture control for six months. Recently repotting (salvaging) the remains of plants that did not do well, I found very uneven moisture. In fact, some root balls of the dying plants were dust dry while the soil around them was well moistened. Digging a little further, I found many, many dry as dust areas surrounded by moist areas. I’m not a novice at watering and believe my watering habits are fine. For some reason, a slow top down watering, moistening all parts of the surface till the water drains into the saucer, sits a bit and is emptied, is not providing even watering. I think this is why so many of my plants have not thrived. The root balls were not compacted.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Jen from Confused Plants are just dying. Every miracle grow potting soil I’ve ever bought had gnats in it & I thought it was normal because of the reoccurrence.
