Overall Tool Length Is An Issue
The length of this tool is a hinderance when working in tight quarters - when trying to deburr a pipe, there often isn't enough space to spin the tool 360 degrees. Individual size-specific deburr/gauge tools, perhaps resembling a wing-nut design, would take up a lot less space and be much more useful.

Useful, but know it's limitations
I was never a fan of "mechanical" seals behind walls until I helped my son-in-law rebuilding their bathroom. Still leary of hidden applications, but I made the jump and have used these when joining difference materials (as in old copper to CPVC). As a depth gage, very easy and useful.
For deburring the OD - useful, although I think careful use of a small knife works fine also. I suspect those who report "chattering" or the like may have been using too much pressure.
For deburring the ID - it was not intended for this purpose, which I find disappointing, given that the "seal" surface is the ID. I ensure a clean, burr-free ID by using a little emory cloth.
