Rated 3 out of 5 by from Don't Buy I purchased this DeWalt Flexvolt Chainsaw 60V. Do not purchase this Chainsaw because you can not get a replacement chain for this saw. I have been to 3 different stores that sell DeWalt products, an none of them have a replacement chain. One said they have order chains for this saw, but have not been able to get any. This a great saw but if you can't get a replacement chain it of no value.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Works as advertised the 1st year. 2nd year?!?! 1st year the saw worked amazing as advertised. Cutting down 16" trees. zero problems. The blade went amazingly far. Cut about 50 trees cut down before I had to sharpen it. Biggest issue was each time I charged the battery, the charge and # of cuts decreased slowly. I thought it was dulling of chain. 2nd year- I took the time during the winter to tune up, clean thoroughly, and replace chain and battery. I been cutting tiny 5-6" trees and it seemed like it was going the distance with the exception the chain brake keeps kicking its self out with or without a load. Its like it got to be extra sensitive. Went to go cut a 16" tree down, chain or motor was smoking, and I went through 2 9 amp batterys, and 3 6 amp batterys. Chain kept coming lose and I swear even the bar is starting to look crooked as well, likely it pointing upward more or somethign, but the bar is definitely put on right. The chain brake keeps kicking out, so much that im forced to hold the brake, so it wont kick out. I keep the lube fully loaded. Im taking the chainsaw apart further to see if maybe the inside needs cleaning. !st yar I was impressed, this year im going back to the gas one till i can get it fixed. I also want to say the 9 amp flexvolt battery after the 1st year, doesnt want to charge or hold a charge.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for casual use at home Have had my saw for 3 months now and used it often. Mostly cutting mesquite which is quite hard wood. Cuts like butter through it with little effort. You do have to fill bar oil quite often but I like a short rest once in a while anyway. Finally had to replace chain with another Oregon chain and once again it was off to the races. If you want something for work this might not be for you but I have used it a lot on my six acres and battery lasts a really long time. One of the best purchases I have made. Also got a blower and weed eater and love them also.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exceeded Expectations. I read as many reviews as I could find. Developed my expectations and purchased the FLEXVOLT 60V Max for some clearing work that needed to be done on one of my properties. I've done a bit of work with my gas saw, but was getting tired of re-starting every time I needed to put it down. I'm not Paul Bunyan by any means, but I have work to do and this saw exceeded my expectations. From the reviews, there were some concerns about power, bogging or battery life. The images below are from this saw's first test and I experienced nothing but great performance. From the Images, you'll see good chips, 22" diameter cut and when finished had 2 bars of power left. I actually did some other cutting before checking the battery. What's that? You say the oil cap leaks or is too hard to fill? Use bar chain oil, it's got stuff in it to make it sticky, I experienced no leaking yet. Although, the saw does go through a bit of oil when in use. Keep some extra on hand. I just use standard hardware store issue bar chain oil, you can spend more for the fancy stuff. Buy a one dollar funnel (see photos). What's that? You say you chain went dull right away? Simple, keep it out of the dirt. It's an Oregon bar and chain. Good stuff. Notice the nice chips I made. I did this in three cuts. I was cutting white pine, so it's pretty soft, but big enough for a good test. I don't recommend cutting this diameter in, say, red oak. Your results may vary. I had good chain speed and the tool cut smoothly and quickly. I ran it up a bit when I first got it to make sure the chain is properly broken in and stretched. There was no problem with chain tension during the work. Actually, there were no problems at all. Good stuff DeWALT. Another good product experience.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to use I have used this saw now for 2 months around my house to do some light trimming and cutting fire wood . It is very easy to use and maintain. Do a YOU-TUBE on this and you will see what it can do. It does just what I need it to do with no gas mix or mess.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from All the power of gas Bought it to trim fallen trees in the neighborhood after a severe storm. While everyone else was having issues starting their gas chainsaws, I pulled in and started working. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great saw I bought this saw about a month ago and i love it. I have used it to xut through a 14 inch tree trunk and it did great. I find that the battery holds up well and i can run the saw for over an hr on the 9 amp hr battery. The instant power and the auick stop of the chain when you release is great. The downfall i see is the safety. It is an akward position if you want to use the saw in anything besides the standard position. Also i have had the bar tightener loosen up when using it. Rated 2 out of 5 by from nice Concept plenty of power disappointed! the plastic mounting of the bar has flex. the chain will move and where out the gear Fast agenst the side of the shaft and the washer a small ez fix would be to replace the mount with cast mount or a lip on the Gear to keep the chain from moving to the Edge [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
