The design is novel, but it's upside down
If you built this so that the unit sits below the window sill, not above it, you'd have a winner. Literally all you'd need to do is flip the control panel and the drainage lines.

You can spend $500+ on these units but god forbid you lose a part or a part breaks, you will not be able to get a replacement.

Internal damage and external damage
Package arrived with big dent in the side then as I removed the filter I could see the little metal fins behind it were damaged as well unit still works just not happy with its condition considering the amount it costs

Low rumbling that shakes the house
At one point during the run cycle, the unit creates a low rumbling that is very annoying and even wakes my daughter in the next room.

Hands down the quietest a/c unit i have ever had!
Amazingly quiet. I honestly wasnt even sure it was running when i first installed it. I wanted a quieter unit for my bedroom as my previous window & portables would wake me up every time they would cycle on. The Midea is so quiet i was standing in front of it and could hear the portable running downstairs over this one. My only "complaint" is that i wish there was a way to lower the brightness of the lights on the front as they are like having a night light in the room when the lights are off. Aside from that i can honestly say its the perfect unit...so far .

Genuinely amazing product.
As an HVACR Professional I can certify the Midea U-Shaped Window ACs to the the best in window AC on the market. I've always felt that window AC's were under engineered and there is so much technology out there not being utilized to make these products better. Midea did a great job by taking inverter technology and modern design from mini-splits and PTACS and packed it all into these products, as well as adding the U-Shape which adds safety and comfort of fresh air. With a CEER Rating of 15, this product is rated to only consume about $50 of energy annually. Its very quiet, no loud thud of a PSC motor compressor starting, and the app works very well. Needless to say I was blown away by the product. The higher price-tag will quickly pay for itself over standard/unitary AC systems. Next major innovation to come with to Window units is heat pump operation. I think Midea has what it takes to make a window heat pump.

Highly recommend this unit!
We replaced a 15000 BTU unit with our new Midea. We love the quietness of it. We don't have to constantly turn the television up and down due to the noise of our old unit. Also we believe our room is cooler with a more even temperature throughout the day. Seeing out more of the window is another feature that has sold us on this unit.

Omg, it doesn't make any noise. It is super easy to install and it allows you to still use the window....If you need an air conditioner, this is the one to get.
