Description
Wood rot is a common issue for most homeowners, regardless of where you live. Fortunately, it can be easily repaired with the right products. Bondo® Rotted Wood Restorer, 8 oz, will solidify soft and spongy wood by penetrating into the wood surface to create a solid base and stop rot quickly. After removing loose or badly rotted wood, you can brush the Rotted Wood Restorer onto the damaged area and within 2 hours the damage can be filled with Bondo® Wood Filler (sold separately). Our wood restorer is water resistant and is paintable. A built-in brush applicator is attached to the lid for easy and convenient application. Wood restorer dries hard in as little as 2 hours.

Not worth the money
Used this product worked great. One week later could not get the top off. After finally getting the top off and bending the can, the product had hardened up so it could not be used. Will not buy again.

Does this work?
Used some today, I will know more later. It does seem to harden the soft wood, maybe like a super glue. My project opened up a post that had a lot of rot where water had been introduced due to a large crack. I removed as much rotten wood as possible. I used a heat gun to dry the affected wood then painted all of the exposed wood with 3M's product. 3M's wood filler will be used to fill the void. It's worth a try to avoid replacing a post that I would have a hard time finding one milled to match the other one that is ok. I'm looking for 5 more years before replacing.

Can't get the lid off
I have no idea how it works because I can't even get the lid off. I've read other reviews that mentioned this issue (aggravation). Wish I had listened and not bought this brand. Now I have to delay my project to make another trip to the store.

Bondo beats them all
I have used Bondo Rotted Wood Restorer for several years now. It hardens more and faster than other products that begin with m. Highly recommended if you really want a repair that will last and can be filled.
