The DEWALT DCN681 18 Gauge Narrow Crown Stapler drives 18 Gauge 1/4 in. narrow crown staples from 1/2 in. to 1-1/2 in. which makes it ideal for cabinetry, furniture, paneling, and flooring underlayment. With its brushless motor powered by a DEWALT 20V MAX Lithium-Ion battery the DCN681 is ready to work without the hassle of using gas, compressor, and hose. Tackle jobs both large and small with the features of a pneumatic tool and the freedom of cordless. Maximum initial battery voltage (measured without a workload) is 20 volts. Nominal voltage is 18.

Inconsistent depth
When driving staples into spring bronze weather striping the depth varied to the point that using the tool was useless. Nails and a hammer worked better. This was a brond new tool.

Awesome stapler

Durable, Mobile, Comfortable, Easy to use Stapler
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been wood working for over twenty years, always fumbling around, tripping over or bumping something with an air hose. I am impressed with this cordless stapler. I was a little skeptical at first because of the weight but you get used to it. The extra weight certainty outweighs having to carry around a small compressor, hose, gas cartridge or oil to small jobs outside of the shop. No matter how clean you are, the oil container for an air tool always starts to leak. Its great to not have to worry about oiling the stapler or get oil on unfinished wood. The battery life is great, the LEDs are bright and there are plenty of adjustable features on the stapler to adjust to your project. I have used this with the included 2AH, 4AH and a 5AH battery. While the larger batteries add extra weight, the tool is still balanced well. If I were to request anything additional to the kit, I would prefer a hard case over the included soft case so it matches all of my other DeWalt air nailers! I certainly plan to begin to convert all of my air nailers to DeWalt cordless nailers!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Ever since I got this I tested it out on many applications and i must say I'm blown away. Was skeptical at first but seems like I'm going to have to switch over to cordless. No compressor, no hoses very portable especially with the belt clip. Little heavy but not a deal breaker. Depth control is great and multi fire is very smooth. Definitely exceeded my original expectations.

Durable, Accurate, Gets The Job Done
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been wanting a crown stapler for a while. I finally got the DeWalt 18g crown stapler. Every job I have used it on it has surpassed my expectations. The single fire and rapid fire functions are fantastic. In rapid fire it has little to no hesitation. The depth control is easy to use but a little hard to read. I wish it had some type of line so you could easily see where it was set to. With that said. I wish I never hesitated to getting one.

Cord Free Experience. Well made Stapler
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After getting this stapler and unboxing the product, my first thought was that this was bulky and top heavy. But after using the product for several projects you don't notice and that it actually fits very well in your hand and the stapler is very well balanced. The grip is very ergonamic and very comfortable. No hand fatigue from using for a long period of time. I don't wear gloves when operating this tool but I don't foresee any issues when trying to use the tool and gloves. The tool hook is easy to use and can be switched on either side.
- adjusting the depth was made simple with this stapler. Nothing too bulky. Very easy to move depth gauge to accommodate different types of material
- No issues with any jamming of staples. I went through an entire box of 1.5" staples and half a box of 1" staples. I mostly used the regular function of nailing and not the "rapid" fire function. I did use the "rapid fire on a small flooring job. I didn't have any issues but can't give adequate feedback at this time as I haven't used to the full capacity. I do like this option and look forward to using at a later date. Switching back and forth from single fire mode to rapid fire mode with the switch. It did not stick nor was it hard to move.
-spring loaded magazine was very smooth in operation. No issues in loading different size staples. Tool free design which makes it easy to work on in the field
-LED lights- these aren't an issue for me as I work in a well lit area or outside. Didn't cause me any shading or visibility issues.
-narrow tip made for easy placement of staples. Where the tip is placed is where the staple is going to come out. I did have issues trying to remove the spare tips. They are placed in backwards so they don't accidentally fall out. I removed them and placed in my nail kit with all my extras and other fasteners and tools related to trim/finish work
-2.0 Ah battery comes with the kit. I fully charged the battery before using and went through several sleeves of staples before changing batteries. A larger 4.0Ah battery makes the stapler a little more balanced and heavier but still manageable. Unless you are using for long periods of time the 2.0Ah battery is all you need.
- compact battery charger....let me tell you guys that this made me happy on so many levels. Big bulky chargers should be a thing of the past. DeWalt has done good on the smaller battery charger. It fits well in tool boxes and doesn't take up necessary space in tool box!! Quick and compact...less downtime and small footprint
- bag that comes with this nailer is way oversized and bulky. I don't use bags anymore just the DeWalt tough system. If you are combining several tools/nailers/staplers then you might find this bag helpful but I have no need for the bag

Amazing power
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this product and I thought it would be like any other staple gun. I was wrong. It has so much power and runtime from just the little 2.0 AH battery. It runs in staples with no problem and the adjustment dial helps when working with different material thickness. The bump mode is great too. It fires the next staple with almost no pause.
