Rated 3 out of 5 by from How long to dry? 18 minutes Since 3M won't say, here's how to apply 3M logic to answering the question: 3M's "Patch Plus Primer" is "3x Faster" and it takes 30 minutes to dry. So, 3M's standard reference for how long "other products" take to dry must be 90 minutes. 90/5 is 18 minutes. There. I said it. Mystery resolved.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Dries 5X faster than what? Goes on pretty smoothly and can be sanded. The issue is the drying time. I realize the thickness matters, but an estimate for a 1/4 inch layer would be helpful.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Worst Packaging ever Invented I like this product, but it is impossible to keep unused portions from drying out because of the dumb, dumb, dumb packaging. Lid never fit once it was opened. At this price point, could we please get a more suitable container????

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Dry time? Easy to use so far. Now I am waiting for the compound to dry. No where on the packaging or website does it say for how long to let it dry before sanding and painting. Even a range would be good like “1-2 hours” or “overnight.” Just so I have a relative idea of how long before I can start the next step.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Plastic container will let compound to dry I had to learn on the large container. I felt of it and it seem dry to me. It performed just fine. I put a few drops of water and closed the lid. Second use just fine, but there was a crack between it and plastic container. Added more water this time and put the lid on. Well at the third opening, I just tossed it. Second buy was a small tub. Worked just fine. Added a few drops of water and I said to myself, I needed to seal seal the container this time. Used Saran Wrap to cover the material. Ppressing the wrap down on the material and up the wall then I pressed on the cover. We’ll see if it worked next opening.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best spackle ever For those dings and holes that are just a bit too large for the usual compound, the 3M Wall Repair is fabulous. It does dry out fairly quickly, so get the smallest container for your job. This stuff saved me hours/days of having to go back and skim coat.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great compound, easy to use Creamy texture, easy to apply. I was using it to smooth and fill gaps in Styrofoam on a model terrain piece. For that purpose I particularly like the fact that is is fiber reinforced. But, like the previous reviewer says, nowhere can I find how long it actually takes to dry. I'm sure it depends on how thick the application is. I did find that the material at the top of the container was starting to dry. I was working about an hour at that point. Unless I were dong a really big job I wouldn't buy the large size. (Bought 1 pint size)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wow... Fantastic product. The best filler I have ever found. I had large holes in the kitchen celling drywall from an old light fixture. I had limited time for repair. Other products were sagging out and the texture of this product held firm without falling to the floor. The quick dry time had me finishing sanding, adding texture and painting day 2. Thanks for saving the weekend!
