Rated 4 out of 5 by from The Dewalt DWD112 is a good CORDED drill. I bought this Dewalt about one and a half months ago. The first day I got it, I immediately put a 1/2 inch brad point bit in it and tried drilling into fire wood, absolutely no trouble. So I went to a 1 and 1/8 spade bit. No trouble. The thing is a beast. Its more powerful than the average drill I've owned. It some serious power. Its also built well. The corded is very thick and nice feeling. The drill has some heft to it. Overall good build quality. By the way, I'm not paid by Dewalt or True Value. Anyway, the drill also has some decent variability in the speed as well. Overall, these parts make it a good drill that anybody will be okay with. Thats if you can deal with the short cord. Now for the cons. The cord is way to short at 8 feet. If it wasn't so short and was maybe 15 feet long it might be 4 1/2 stars. Then theres the 3/8 inch chuck. The chuck is of good quality. But is just to small. I have an old Dewalt DW989 18v cordless hammer drill with the same if not more power, with a way bigger chuck. So bottom line is, for a Dewalt, it okay. For an affordable corded drill, its great. The abilities it has make it great good corded drill.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Now I truly see the difference with DeWalt tools. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After a little time with this drill I can finally understand why people brag about their DeWalt products.. I own 7 drills in total, some very popular ones and some less well known ones that offer up decent performance. Their are some differences in the way a DeWalt drill is designed, as well as materials and construction that absolutely make it stand head and shoulders above the other 6 drills I own, both in terms of performance, as well as durability. For instance the chuck, and motor shaft alone are much truer in rotation than anything else I own, or have tried. Whatever the design differences there are in the motor, can be seen in translation upon how quickly and cleanly wood, and metal are drilled into without becoming hot or bogging. This drill is designed to be around a long time as obvious by the choice in materials and design.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from DIY Drill [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a solid drill for a DIY purchaser or weekend warrior. I am not sure how it will hold up in the field as it is made of mainly plastic and will most likely not hold up to that kind of use.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from the drill will not turn on I bought this drill in 2016 and use it probably 10-15 times. last time I tried to use it the drill will not turn on. The warranty expired 1 year ago (how convenient). I am a big fan of Dewalt but lately looks like their products are not what use to be. It is time for me to look for a different brand for the power tools.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very good corded drill [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] In the day and age of ever improving and increasing options of cordless tools, there are still times when you need the added run time and power of a corded drill and this one delivers perfectly. its small enough and light enough that you won't think twice to grab for a small job when you cordless batteries aren't charged, and it has enogh power that you'll turn to it for bigger jobs.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Power! I just bought this drill today and it is everything I could have hoped for. It drills into wood and metal with ease. I especially enjoy the speed control through the trigger, that way I can ease into whatever I'm driling before using full power.
