Poor / Unexpected Results
Applied at 2/3 rate and after one week turned a picture perfect lawn into a blotchy lawn with yellow patches. I advised our lawn service we applied Scotts Summer Turf Builder and he mentioned there has been numerous complaints with similar results. I confirmed on the internet. I have been using Scotts products for over thirty years and this is very disappointing.

Just what the lawn doctor ordered
I will apply this to my lawn today and then should get off-and-on rain for the next several days. The only ingredient I need is nitrogen (34-0-0) plus slow water absorption. This should fit the bill. I have 2 acres but only 1/3 is lawn. I will advise results in 3-4 weeks.

Used this to try to fill in some bare areas.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Used this product last late Summer and Fall to try to fill in bare areas. It did help some, but it was so hot and dry that it was almost pointless. Once it cooled off a bit, the grass did start growing; before the first freeze shut it down. But the product worked.

Can’t beat Scott’s fertilizer!

We tend to have very hot summers here, and this captured the sprinkler water from morning and aided with making a much healthier lawn for us.

Turf Builder does the job
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I tried the Turf Builder Summer Lawn fertilizer for the first time this year. It has done a good job in greening the lawn and improving the thatch density of the grass. At this time I still don't know whether the water maximizer feature works or not since the weather has cooperated to keep the grass well watered.

Centipede did Green Up

Not sure about spreader setting recommendation
I just applied this today so im giving it five stars based on history with Scott products. I’ve been following the Scotts lawn act for three years and have been very happy, lawn looks amazing. Normally this time of year it would have me apply Scott’s green max tm lawn food, but this year it recommended Scott’s turfbuilder summer lawn food. My lot is 17000+ sf, house is around 3000, pool deck around 3000, so with driveway I figure around 10000 sf. I try not to overfertilize, sometimes I have some leftover, sometimes I’m short, but it usually works out. Since this product comes in 4000 I had to buy three bags. I use a Scott’s speedy green 3000 so I set it to 4 as recommended. No way is this accurate! The grains are huge and the product came out very slowly. After finishing the front yard the spreader was still very full. When I got to the backyard I changed the setting to 5 and it seemed to flow much better. After finishing the back I returned to the front yard and switched it back to 4 because I was afraid of over doing it and I re did the front yard. I ended up with about 3/4 of a bag leftover. I hope you guys figure this out.

Easy to use

I have a few areas that seem to get less water so I targeted those areas. With the hot start to the summer I know that Turf builder will keep my yard green for weeks.

Two Products in One

During the hot summer months, my lawn usually requires more water. After applying this product not only did my lawn green quickly, I saw a noticeable decrease in having to use as much water. I highly recommend this product.

Keeps grass green!

Excellent Summer Feeding for the Lawn
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had planned on waiting to use this summer product until the heat of the summer really came upon us, like in July, but Spring stopped quickly and here in May in Houston, we have been having breaking hot temps. So I decided to give this summer lawn food a try. I could not be more pleased with the results. After spreading and some welcomed rain and then some sunshine, we have a lush, green, and very healthy lawn. Works great!!

Thick green grass

Grass greened up in days after spreading. Thickened up making thicker blades of grass. Choke out weeds. Got some in flower bed by accident but didn't hurt flowers but helped them instead.

The grass is greener in our yard.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] In early spring I used Scott's Bonus S, then I top dressed the yard with Scott's Turf Builder Summer Lawn Food. I now have no weeds and and a nice lush heavy very green yard. It is doing so well that I mow twice a week. I was working in the front yard yesterday and passer-bys complimented me on how nice the yard looks.

Scotts Summer Lawn Food, a winner
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This product is outstanding. I applied to my lawn last weekend, and I do have a sprinkler system as you have to water in immediately after application. This product started turning my grass greener within 3 days. I had a few areas that showed possible fungus, and those areas are starting to fill in. We have been getting rain in the last couple of days, and thus I have not had to use my sprinkler system. The grass is continuing to green more. I really think that this product will definitely be a winner for Scotts.
