Rated 5 out of 5 by from You’re gonna need a bigger mower... Bermuda grass / Dallas Tx. / Clay soil. Apply twice; six weeks apart. Water thoroughly and with more dry days in between than you are normally comfortable with. It’s hard to break that frequent drenching habit, but I think it’s key. Raise mower cutting height. Get more HP on your mower or go slower.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from accidentally applied to squash and okra plants. I accidentally applied this product to my squash and okra plants adjacent to my lawn. I need information on how safe this product is for plants. Should i water them heavily to dilute the strength of the particles that fell on my plants?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Better than Expected! When I failed to properly fertilize and prepare my newly laid sod for winter I figured I would be laying new sod. Late in putting down the Scotts fertilizer I knew I was fix'n to lay new sod, but the fertilizer helped bring the life back into the grass. I waited a couple of weeks to add the turf builder after the fertilizer and the grass has recovered better than I could have ever expected. The growth has made me mow more than I planned for, and the thickness is simply Awesome! Now, all that said, I am getting ready to put down another treatment of the turf builder and will let everyone know how that works out. Just a word to those that have had less than expected results should really look at taking soil samples and have them analyzed so you know what you are doing is not doing harm. One post said their grass turned yellow after treatment, I am not a grass expert but yellow usually means too much water, but again get the soil analyzed and see what the grass needs to grow.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Scott’s southern law food This product works great. After adjusting ph this spring and corrected soil with 10-10-10 my soil tests indicated that I needed a good does of nitrogen and some potassium. This product was applied as the directions on the bag indicated and watered in with 1/2 in of water. After about a week the color of the lawn deepened. The yard also seemed to thicken. My tall fescue loved this product. Will buy in the future.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Show the contents, PLEASE, somewhere this Site I had the Texas A&M lab do soil tests of my yard. Our local (former) extension agent recommends soil testing. And if you don't obtain them, he recommends fertilizer with no phosphate and with plentiful slow-release nitrogen. This might be the perfect fertilizer for me. But iIhave to go to a brick & mortar store to see the contents. The contents are only on the back of the bags which you don't show on this site. I shop!!!! I've used Scotts for many years. But why are you hiding the specs? I don't put cheap Ammonium-Sulfate on my lawn and I never compare it with Scotts fine products. I refuse to buy fertilizer based on 'word appeal'. Fire your marketing robots and prominently return the numbers to the front of the bags. I buy fertilizer based on content of Iron, Sulfur, etc. in addition to N-P-K. Do right for Scotts and leave the word appeal to stores. I cannot green my lawn with the words of your marketing department. Why do I have to turn over the bags to see the numbers? My last application was your Green Max and I like it-a lot, on both Tiff Bermuda and St Augustine. But soil tests will guide my future purchases. Also, I'm treating my lawn with DiseaseEx. I've got my fingers crossed

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Yellowing grass I bought this product to help my yard grow fuller. It’s my first time using this product. Three days after application my grass started yellowing and it seems to be getting worse. I’m praying that my grass doesn’t die. I followed all recommended instructions but am very disappointed at the results. I wouldn’t recommend this product.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Too good at retaining moisture The materal clumps so bad, it will not come out of a broadcast spreader, even when I set it two number above the recommend setting. I ended up just having to spread it by hand. I live in central texas, and stored the unopened bag in my garage. Maybe if you store it in your home with the AC it will keep the humidity out of the material, but even as I was spreading it it seemed to suck the moisture out of the air and stop up the spreader.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this stuff Pictures: Only difference has been mowing my yard myself, and using this fertilizer. That's it. I started using this product this year, first in the spring time, then twice since - following the 6-8 weeks in between. It has turned my yard into a thick, lush, beautiful lawn, that I love to mow every weekend because of how great it looks afterwards. I used to have a lawn service do my yard every two weeks, after winter when I could not get ahold of them, I decided to get my own lawn equipment and do it myself. Decided to give fertilizer a try also and see what happened. I went with Turf Builder instead of Weed and Feed only because I have so many plants that I worry about, but wouldn't change a thing. Product is great!
