Rated 1 out of 5 by from Always out of stock when needed. Scotts has been a real letdown lately. They send out advertisements that they can't honor. What good is a sale if you have no product to sell.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from No weed killer in it. Applied according to directions a week ago and the weeds just got greener and taller it's happen the last 3 years .Doesn't work like it used to and I've applied it every year

Rated 2 out of 5 by from It clogs up in my broadcast spreader Have purchased several 10,000sq ft bags and have used following the instructions. I think the product is damp or even wet maybe as it clogs up the broadcast spreader. When the spreader is all clogged up , the remaining product has to be removes to clear the spreader, so it spreads again. So, I have decided to find a different product that does not clog my spreader and cause me to work harder than I should.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Doesn't work. Treated my dollarweed infested lawn following instructions a week ago. The dollarweed is greener than ever.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from terrible product Does NOT kill the weeds it claims (when applied properly as per instructions and watered in). Dollar weed and clover is THRIVING after 2 applications of bonus s within 2 1/2 months. Its been a month since last treatment, st augustine looks worse, weeds are looking great, stronger than ever!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not worth my expense or time putting down. Second time trying and I am sorry, but I put this down 2 weeks ago in Houston and all it did was make the clover grow greener. Dollar weed still green and all the rest of the weeds. Great hype but doesn't seem to work. Going back to using liquid spray. Also is says for Southern lawns, but ingredients is mostly nitrogen. Should be 15-5-10 for southern lawns according to agricultural extensions in my area.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Product does not work I have used this product with NO results no weeds were killed it looks like I have 3 times as many weeds do not recommend this product

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Scott’s 4 step program 5,000 How is this product out of stock already. I order this plan every year. This is ridiculous

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Compare a Scotts lawn to a none scotts lawn 1/8/24 I follow the “Scotts” application plan for Southern St Augustine yards with exception of no added products in August as I always mulch my grass and leaves and feel I’m getting an extra “free” fertilization over the year by doing that. Look at my January lawn on left to my neighbors’ none Scotts lawn on right. This photo also shows how effective the Scotts EdgeGuard is at controlling the application of the products!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from OUT OF STOCK Every time I go to order this lawn care plan, it is out of stock. What gives?
Date published: 2024-02-02
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Product is poor! Price keeps going up and effectiveness going down. Have used 3-4 times a year for the past 2 years on my Florida Floritam lawn and never have I had so many weeds. Doesn’t kill any of them. Lived in Florida 35 years and always have taken pride in my lawn. Time to look for a different product!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Read the INSTRUCTIONS Used this product last spring and it worked great. One really needs to read and FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS for this product to do its job effectively.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Sad results 75% of good grass is gone I hired a professional lawn company to put new sod down two year.s ago. They first used roundup to kill all grass three applications one week apart. After one month New sod was installed. The grass grew nicely but weeds and dollar weed took over. I called the installers and they said use lightly per instructions Scott’s Weed and Feed. Two months later over 75% of my sod was dead and its now a dirt pile!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Should of listened to the reviews. I bought the weed and feed a couple of months ago, before I read the reviews at this site. The reviews have said something along the line the it feeds the weeds and kills the grass. I've used this product for years and had good results, so thought I'd just try it on my back yard. And after a month or so, it definitely looks like it fed the weeds and hurt the grass. The dollar weed is doing great, but my grass is all yellowing. Tried to add pictures but the Scotts form was not accepting them. I would like to at least get my money back, but did not save the receipt.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from NOT A TURF BUILDER I bought several bags of Scotts bonus S as well as other Scotts products. Wasn't satisfied with ANY of them. Scotts is supposed to be the premier product in this class for making grass green & killing existing weeds Grass was green for 2 weeks after application- it says product isn't supposed to be put on more than 1 once in the applicable period

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not what it used to be! I have used this product for years with great results but the last two times I have used it it has not been the same. Weeds seem to be thriving!
Date published: 2023-11-18
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Horrible As others have said throughout this thread, this product is not what it used to be. Put down 2 months ago and it appears it actually fed the weeds and killed the grass. More weeds are in the lawn than ever before. In fact, they are thriving. What is going on here?
Date published: 2023-11-17
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Kills ypir lawn! After about 3 weeks of application it has killed most of my St Augustine lawn! A few others have said the same thing. Best to completely avoid this product.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Big problems I applied this to my lawn in April also used max green in June Over the summer my lawn is now dying It did look wonderful to start with but now there are weeds and large area's that are dead. Have been using this product before with no problems. My neighbor also has the same problems as his lawn is dying also

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent 👍🏼 I've used this particular Scotts for over 15 yrs . Nothing works better ( for me )
Date published: 2023-10-24
Rated 5 out of 5 by from I will know how well the product works by spring. Yesterday I applied this on my St. Augustine lawn for the first time. Florida dictates when to apply lawn chemicals. My county dictates when to water, which is only once a week if using an irrigation system, or sprinklers. Should I hand water to soak in the pellets?

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I like the product Why should I not apply with handheld spreader? That’s is my question. Please advise.
Date published: 2023-09-10
Rated 5 out of 5 by from The product works great for me. I have used Scott’s turf bonus S for about 10 years and I have no intention on changing. I get the desired results I want. And I have the best looking lawn in the neighborhood. They stop and ask me what do I use and they say they are going to buy some of it for their lawn.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Weeds are thriving, grass is dying I spread this over my st. Augustine lawn two weeks ago. My lawn is now the worst it has ever looked. The grass is dying in large chunks and the weeds are growing like crazy entirely overtaking the lawn. I'm really worried I may need to resod it all now.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from WET GRANULES (for the second time in a row)!! Similar to others here, I have used this product before with no issue. The last two times I purchased, upon opening, the granules are wet inside the bag. Last time, being that the bag was already opened, I just spread it out and waited for it to dry (not convenient). After applying, it appears that I FED the crabgrass and other weeds, rather than treat it. This is all relatively new sod (2 yrs ago, and was in good condition prior). I chalked the one bag up to “fluke” and purchased another yesterday. SAME situation. Wet granules. Impossible to spread. Extremely annoyed.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Don't be too quick to blame your fertilizer !! I have lived in this house since 1979 and have used Scotts Bonus S for Southern Lawns on my St. Augustine for decades with outstanding results. When I read some of the negative posts and look at the pictures from other users that think that Bonus S has killed their yards, I doubt very seriously that the Bonus S is at fault. Starting in 2016 and all through 2017 into 2018, I had lost most of my front and back yards. I thought it was for lack of enough water, so I increased my watering. Only after doing research, I discovered that my yard was suffering from Take all Root Rot, caused by a fungus. People need to do their own research on the issue. In March of 2018, in addition to my regular application of Bonus S, I started using one of the name brand Fungicides every 6 to 8 weeks and cut back on watering. By the end of the summer that year, My yards had almost fully recovered. I shared my story with several neighbors with the same symptoms in their yards and they took the same steps that I did with great results. During all of 2019, 2020, 2021 and up until July of 2022, my yard was in perfect condition. Then in a matter of 3 weeks, by the end of July, over half of my front yard and most of my back yard was dead. I discovered then that the new culprit was Chinch Bugs. They had killed most of the St Augustine yards in my area during the same time period. I started applying one of the name brand broad range insecticides at full strength that claimed to kill Chinch bugs. Due the the life cycle of Chinch Bug eggs, I repeated application every 6 to 8 weeks. The spread of the damage halted quickly. Again, do your own research on Chinch Bugs. Starting in March of this year, in addition to my regular applications of Bonus S, I have also treated for Chinch Bugs and Fungus. At this writing on August 11th, my front yard is fully recovered and the back yard is about 85% recovered. Both are withstanding this horrific heat well. I also shared this information about Chinch Bugs with my neighbors and their yards are now doing much better. I hope that anyone who is having problems with their St Augustine lawns will at least consider looking beyond their fertilizer for the problems.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Bad problem This product has destroyed my lawn. I used it for the past 30 years and never had a problem. I applied this Scott Weed for Southern Lawn back in February. Now my St. Augustin grass is gone and crab grass or monkey grass has taken over. What can I do to correct this problem??????

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Something is wrong! Killing my grass I bought this 2 months ago. It had lots of big clumps in the bag. I crushed them up to distribute with my Scotts spreader. It was applied following directions. It was applied to new (green) St. Augustine, Floratam. After properly watering and a month gone by the once new Floratam has died back and may not survive. I have used the product before and had great success. NOT this time as it seems to be killing my new sod. I have tried to post a few photos. The website has a place but it is not functioning.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from I should have returned it I’ve used this before and it was great. This time I opened the bag and it was in clumps. I tried to break the clumps but the product seems moist. It clogged my Scott’s spreader.
