Rated 1 out of 5 by from very disappointed I have been a loyal weber grill customer for 40 years. I purchased a new s-400 series natural gas grill in 2016. its been 7 years and it is just falling apart. The first ss lid developed rust spots in the 2nd year and weber replaced it. The SS flavorizer bars are rusting out and need to be replaced. The IR burner which I have only used once will not light. The poorly engineered hidden rotisserie motor mount is so flimsy that the spit pops out of the motor during cooking. The grill itself has very uneven heat distribution. all the metal parts on the inside of the grill are rising out and to add insult to injury any grill bought prior to 2017 is not covered under the 10yr warrantee. Also this grill is on my deck and always covered with a weber cover 3rd one in 7 years as the don't hold up either.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Everything you want Purchased this grill almost 2 years ago. Solid unit, cooks great, price tag is high, but totall worth it. I'd buy it again in a heart beat.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from I Expect Better for the Money After using a Genesis Silver B for about 15 years (zero problems), I upgraded to the Summit about 5 years ago. I was very excited to get it after only having Weber products in the past. From the beginning, the ignition/burner control knobs would split and lighting the IR burner is nearly impossible. Now I'm having difficulty lighting (2) burners, they only ignite from neighboring burners being lit. For the amount of money this grill cost, I would shop around and look at other options next time. I really wanted it to be better, truly.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Grill, Terrible Knobs! I purchased an S-470 a little over a year ago and am very pleased with the way it grills. Its a quality grill that is easy to clean. However, the knobs are complete trash. The arbors on the knobs simply crack and break. I am now on my third breakage. WEBER, WHY AREN'T YOU RETROFITTING THESE KNOBS? WHY ISN'T THERE A NEW SOLUTION?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worth every penny Have had four different “quality” grills. Will be my 10th Christmas to have “Family” dinner. The rotisserie was a decision maker. I previously converted a different brand from propane to NatGas. The quality and durability make this my favorite. Loved charcoal, but the smoker box on this and never having to “run out” of fuel, (purchased the NatGas version) makes this an every day option. Yes, even in winter in Ohio.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Over a decade old, and still great! There hasn't been another brand that has served me better than Weber. My Summit is awesome, and now it's time for routine burner maintenance which I am pleased to do. I'm a 365 griller, and these grills live outside and covered. When you buy a "lifetime" grill, you'll need to do maintenance, and should be pleased to do it. I love charcoaling, but the S-470 is go-to for quick lunches during work week, or bad weather days. I truly have no use for my oven.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The only replacement for S-470 is another S-470 Fantastic grill; well worth the price. I previously owned this exact model, but it was destroyed in a tornado this May.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My Weber Summit S-470 Turns 10! My Weber Summit S-470 turns 10 and is still going strong! Many wonderful memories of yummy food in the company of good friends. Operated in tropical Singapore, sandy Dubai and back to Singapore. Has suffered only three small rust holes (3 mm diameter) in the back panel (looks like Part #70392 Hardware for IR cover). A great grill!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Knobs split repeatedly Grill works great and looks great but I guess I need to use vise grips to turn it on and off since the plastic knobs keep splitting on the center stem. 4th set, look online you will see plenty more people with the same issue,Had a Genesis natural gas before no issues but this is the last Weber product for me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Better than all the rest. My 20+ year old summit died last summer. Only made sense to buy the exact one which will probably last longer since I now know how to take extra care of it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Still Looks Great After 10 Years I purchased the Weber Summit when we moved into our new home in 2012. It sits under a covered deck and only gets wet from blowing rain. The grill is used year round and have yet to replace anything. I use a quick connect for propane plumbed through the house, so no tanks to fill. All burners still start first time. Yes, it cost a lot but worth every penny.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 2010 Summit S-470 Bought my 2010 S-470 back in 2011, I'm at my 11 year mark with this grill. I use it year round, and only use a simple cover to protect it. The body is still solid, surprisingly in this Jersey Climate. Changed the burner tubes twice, and the flavor bars once. Expect another 10 years from this bad boy. Great Purchase!!!! Thanks Weber.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not what they use to be The knobs are cheap plastic and two have broken in 6 months. It’s great I go replacements but still gonna break due to a lower quality material. Heating is uneven and I am yet to get the infrared burner to light

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Weber Again! This is the second Weber grill of this model that I own. That should be testimonial enough but let me just say this grill is fabulous. I love it for for bbq-ing everything! It is an absolute perfect companion to our Weber kettle grills. I like that this grill heats up quickly and that the flame is adjustable. Love the lighting and the rotisserie storage on this newer model. We even bbq pizza on it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect if there were side cabinets for storage I purchased this S-470 grill on 04/24/2017 so, a little over 4 years later, my review: Following my own motto... "buy the right one the first time and you'll never have to buy it again" (motto created after buying the cheap ones) I bought this grill because I wanted a grill that was built tough and made to last. After 4+ years, it still works and looks like new and I grill weekly if not more often -- even in the winter when I have to shovel a path to the grill! I just keep it clean and covered when not in use and have had zero problems. Is it worth the extra $$$$ to buy a Summit grill? Yes! Hands down, the best grill I've ever owned and fully expect it will be a family heirloom after I'm gone - lol. My only wish is for attached, matching side cabinets so I could store all my grilling accessories. I guess I'll be making my own.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great features. Built to last. I purchased this more than ten years ago. I use it about three times a week. I often don’t get it covered and it has held up beautifully. Weber Support is AWESOME! On two occasions in ten years they have provided me with replacement part, all at no charge, that’s great warranty support.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy peasy I was unable to assemble the grill due to an injury. I enlisted my wife’s help and she got it together in no time. Did two compound butter stuffed rotisserie chickens within an hour of opening. Perfect.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Grill good—part support very poor. Grill is very nice. It is getting older and needs some replacement parts. The web site for parts support is basically useless. Even when entering model number (which is not enough alone) and serial number (required if you want to get close). Then almost unreadable diagrams that are not well linked. It will take 20-30 minutes to get something ordered that should have been a few clicks IF YOU ARE LUCKY ENOUGHT THEY STILL MAKE IT FOR A CURRENT MODEL. You will endup at third parties where you don't know if it is OEM or poor quality third party parts. VERY POOR. I gave up when I couldn't get what I wanted all from one place. I will endup trying again soon. But I won't even start at Webers site.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Really Terrific Grill I bought mine ten years ago. It has held up very well. The three heat elements in the middle have been great for steak. We have used the rotisserie several times for terrific, whole chickens. I like the vertical heat elements as they allow cooking on one side while warming or baking on the other. A year ago, when a couple heat elements rusted, they were replaced under warranty. I use the smoke section on the right when doing ribs, steak etc as it adds flavor. Even though we use it several times a week and year round and it sits on a deck with salt wind from San Francisco Bay blowing on it, it still looks and works well. I remember well how it came. The packaging was amazing. Very well thought out so easy to assemble.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Loving it! I've only had the grill for a couple weeks, but so far I love it! Even heat, minimal flair-ups, and the smoke box and rotisserie are a real treat.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from An excellent all round versatile grill This is my third S-470 grill, only because of moving house, not because the previous ones wore out. The included features, durability, ease of use, low maintenance and reliability are fantastic. I considered a Genesis, which is rated higher by Consumer Reports, but decided to stick with the S-470 due to the rotisserie burner and smoke chamber, not available on Genesis. Also, the grate design on the 470 is more robust with larger diameter tubulars. I also like the built in rotisserie motor on the 470. My only issues (slight issues) are heat uniformity (slightly hotter on the right side), lack of electronic ignition (the 470 has push-and-turn ignition on each burner) and the push button light switch design for the burner knobs. The rubber weather protection for the switch only lasts a few years. It's impossible to find the perfect grill and all things considered, I definitely recommend this one.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great start, but needs a couple tweaks So far, love the grill. Everything works well, easy to use, didn't take long to put together and start using. Dear was a new feature that worked well in our inaugural grilling. The integrated smoker box was well received and heats up quickly to add smoke flavor without a lot of hassle. There are 3 things I would fix. First, the handle covers are easily moved and/or displaced making the handles not turn or off aesthetically. Second, the power cord for the rotisserie is just too short. Even if I was closer to my outlet in the old spot for my grill, it would still be too short. Finally, adding information to the page depicting the size of gas fittings and hose would help avoid extra costs when purchasing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quality, heating capacity, features This my second season with my Weber Summit. I use it at least three times a week year round. I live in Montana so a lot of my grilling is in snow and cold. This unit has enough btu's to grill in freezing temperatures. I absolutely love it. My friends have grill envy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Grill This replaced a storm damaged S-470 that was purchased in 2011. Like the increased stainless steel in the grates and flavorizer bars. Easy assembly. Same great grill

Rated 5 out of 5 by from outstanding grill We have our grill for 11 years and its a dream. The rotisserie works great. We have cooked turkey, chicken and pork loin all turned out perfectly.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Worst Grill Ever I bought this expensive grill so that it could last a life time. Within months of owning material started to damage. Grill has rust, chrome on the grill chipped off and even where the gas goes a big whole appeared. Definitely not worth the money because it is made extremely cheap with non-durable material. Don't waste your money on this cheaply made grill.
