Will not cut
Out of the box, the knife would not cut, blades are not aligned. This was a replacement to my old B&D that last 30 years with no issues.

Need replacement blades
Had this for about 5 months, works pretty well for carving upholstery foam but the blades are already dull and it's nearly impossible to find replacement blades anywhere.

Had it forever.
Not sure when they started manufacturing these but I think I have an original, handed down from an aunt at least 20 years ago. Still works! But time to replace the blades. Hope that's possible!

Plastic piece broken from blades
I used this EK700 carving knife three or four times before the plastic broke from the blades, allowing the blades to "wander". The product seemed very good with this one exception. I wouldn't have bothered writing the review if I could have located replacement blades easily.

Worked great at first, but blades dull quickly
I purchased this to cut paper towel rolls, as I make my own baby wipes & it requires cutting paper towel rolls in half. The first time I used it, it worked great! I was able to cut 6 rolls, no problem, like butter. However, the next time I tried to cut them it required a little more effort on my part (I usually cut about 6 at a time). This last time, I could barely get through 1roll, and I really had to push to get it through the whole roll. I really didn't think the blade would dull this quickly...I've only had this for about a month.

Questionable Quality - not recommended to buy
Used this knife only twice and the blades stopped working. Being an engineer, I took it apart thinking it must be a simple fix but found that the plastic components inside the knife run by the worm gear had melted or broken down creating a larger hole that could no longer move the blade back and forth with the cam action. This is an example of another appliance that ends up in the landfill due to a poor quality 10 cent part.

not a quality product
Purchased about a year ago,..knives are dull and the blue plastic pieces that hold the knives together are broke, making the knife inoperable. I used the knife about 12-15 times total.

Works good. Need replacement blades.
I have been using this knife for about 3 months now and it is getting to the point where it won't cut through bread very easily. Can't seem to find replacement blades. Where are they available at?

Doesn't last
I purchased this and initially it worked well. However, even with limited use for holidays, the knives lost the blue plastic piece and they do not stay together. As a result, the slices of meat or whatever is being sliced, grind away and appear to have been ripped from the item. I cannot seem to locate replacement blades, so I am off to purchase a new, knife from another manufacturer.

Blunt force trauma needed to cut with this knife
This knife is the worst and i am after almost 6 months throwing it away today. Since the day i bought it i had to push it because it just would not cut! I honestly thought i was doing something wrong, but i am not. Save your money and do not buy this product, you wil be better off with a bread cutting knife! So disappointed

Very disappointing
I purchased this knife to replace a knife we had for over twenty years. We used it yesterday to crave our turkey and ham for thanksgiving. It was barely able to cut through the ham and sounded like a chain saw cutting the turkey. It might be ok as a bread slicer but is terrible for cutting meat.

Very disappointed!
I bought this to replace an electric knife that I had for 20 years that finally stopped working. This B&D knife worked OKAY for about 2 or 3 cuts & now it's basically useless. I don't know if it's because it's dull or the blades aren't moving properly. I did notice that only one side of the blades seems to move.

Slices perfectly
I own several B&D products and have never been disappointed with the quality or if any issues happened, customer service has always been fantastic. This electric knife is adding to the list. I am using for slicing breads to meat and no problem. The blade easily cleans in the Dishwasher. This, for me, is another great B&D product.

Black Decker Electric Knife
I bought this knife because of the Black & Decker name, used it 1 time. Now getting ready for Thanksgiving carving, plugged the knife in, motor comes on, but the blades don't work. :(

Throw it in the trash
Either I'm an idiot, the knife is defective, or it's just poorly made. 3 adults have tried to use it and none of us can figure out how to keep it in the "on" position. The safety is always on. It basically takes two hands to operate it which in turn defeats the purpose of using an electric knife. So, with that said, does anybody know if there is a way to turn the safety off while you're using it? Having a safety feature while using it is great if you are letting a 5 year old carve your turkey however it's not necessary for adults. Looks like I'll be using just an old fashioned knife today to carve the turkey, throwing this electric knife in the garbage and buying one made for adult use before Christmas.

Works every time we used it.
We've had this knife for years and never had a problem. I
do wish they did offer new blade replacements. Guess I can
try what the other gentleman did and resharpen it.

Terrible right out of the box
We have had other B&D appliances in the past without a hitch. This appliance just doesn't have enough power to operate correctly

For the price, this is a pretty good knife
I bought this knife to replace an old battery operated Sonic Blade knife, as the batteries were always down when i wanted to use it. This knife operates well, has adequate power and easy to use. I must have a revised or newer version, as the safety pin clicks and locks in either on or off. I found after cutting meat and accidentally running into a bone, the blades lost some sharpness. I got a 3/16" round fine file and resharpened them to about new. They should offer new replacement blades and different blades for this unit.
