Love it but so does a small squirrel!
Maybe this squirrel is too light weight for it?? Ugh. At least it keeps the fat gray ones away.

Keeps squirrels away
We have very determined squirrels and they have tried everything to get to the bird seed but not successfully! Only problem is they chewed the coverings over the perches off. Very compact feeder that holds a lot. Birds love it.

Not as squirrel proof as claimed
It worked as advertised at first.
Then after about 3 weeks the squirrels figured it out. They hang upside down from the metal cone and pick the seed out. They have also chewed off the plastic parts around the feed-holes, and are now chewing the metal to make the holes bigger.
For the price I paid I expected it to be more durable.

IT WORKS
For decades I have seen every claim that products are squirrel proof. None have been. Finally, one that lives up to the claim. It hangs on a garden pole, and squirrel can get up the pole or jump from a tree or deck. It's been a week and so far two very frustrated squirrels and many happy birds. A side benefit is that the birds love the perches and don't fight over space. And my sunflower seed supply lasts much longer

It really works.
Bought this feeder about 12 years ago at an estate sale. It was several years old by then. It really is squirrel proof. They have managed to chew up the bottom a bit and have left teeth marks on the top, but have never gotten into it. I just discovered it isn't chipmunk proof. Watched a chipmunk climb up the Shepard's hook jump onto the perch and fill up his cheeks with sunflower seeds. Then slide back down the pole. Wish I had gotten a picture, maybe next time because I'm sure there will be a next time.
