Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not too effective against squirrels I bought this about three years ago. The squirrels almost immediately learned how to hang upside down and push on the metal with their feet so that the feeder did not close. One of the perches fell off when the brittle plastic tube cracked. The feeder was in sunshine most of the day and the plastic tube became brittle. The squirrels also gnawed holes in the plastic tube holding the birdseed so that it did not matter if it closed, they ate from the holes they gnawed in the plastic tube.
