Rated 1 out of 5 by from Buy Another Product Every year has to get serviced to start. My Brother down the street has 15 year old model same type of blower. Never has to get serviced. Buy something else. Maybe user error but I don't care because he doesn't do any thing different. For what I paid I should not have to have a guy look at it every year in order for it to start. Part of the challenge is the company I bought it from went out of business. Who knows maybe it was related to this product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from LOVE IT!! I live in Denver and own a corner lot house which means I have to do clear a long, well traveled sidewalk. I also have a 3 car garage driveway as well. When I tell you this has been one of the best pieces of hardware in my garage I am not kidding. This snow blower is awesome. Starts on first pull. Has the electric start but honestly you don't even need it. Throws snow for a mile. Thank you for making a quality product.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from RE: Stalls first time. Now I cannot get it to start! The gears were stripped in the gear box and one side won't turn. Impossible to plow snow with this. Engine stall as we pushed it back up to the house. Now we cannot get it to start at all. I put alot of money into this machine and was hoping to have something for 20 years or so (alot like my lawn mowers and such).

Rated 3 out of 5 by from MEH....... I've had this machine for 3 maybe 4 years now. First year I had it, it worked flawlessly. Since then I've had issues. There is a small gas leak somewhere. I cant seem to pinpoint where it is. Somewhere near the carb. The choke broke, and now I have to replace choke parts. Every spring I make sure that I store it properly. I have motorcycles, snowmobiles, riding lawn tractors, chainsaws, etc. I know how to store my stuff. Even then, I constantly have to make sure that I'm making sure the carb is clean. For whatever reason, the carb on this unit seems to want to gunk up easily. AGAIN, I have a lot of small 2 and 4 stroke equipment, and I'm using clean, fresh gas. This machine is finicky. Seems to want to gunk up easily. I also have found that the reverse gears are way to low, and too slow. I end up manhandling it most of the time, pulling it backwards, because it ends up saving me time. But isn't the purpose of a snow thrower to make moving snow easier? I'm going to keep it since I don't want to spend the money on another machine, and this one is already a few years old, but I would not recommend this machine. Unless you like to tinker, this isn't the machine for you.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Ist and last Ariens Product After 3 years of light use the recoil cord broke and the transmission lost all reverse and low ranges. It will not respond to any external adjustment threads on the linkages. When I lived in the north I used my MTD most days for 4 months over 8 years on a large rural driveway yard. Yes my MTD required service (I beat that thing) but it also got used more in 1 week than my Ariens did in three seasons. The problems with the Ariens never happened to the MTD. I'm now shopping for a new snow blower, maybe an MTD but no more Ariens products for me.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from piece of junk!! low quality high price broke after very little light use. goes over packed down snow rather than blowing it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from horrible machine I purchased the blower 3 years ago. Pull cord snapped twice. Doesn't shoot the snow out very far. The slightest bit of any slush or compacted snow and the machine clogs constantly. Very aggrevating. Resort to shoveling instead of getting upset. Neighbor has an mdt 5.0hp blower, this is 9.5hp. His rips through everything and shoots the snow approx 30 ft, and spent $300 less. Will never buy this blower again.
