Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good solid smoker and well made! I have 2 Weber charcoal grills and an Extra Large Big Green Egg. I think the BGE did a pretty good job cooking ribs but had a difficult time maintaining a lower temperature. This 22" Smokey Mountain Cooker Smoker is much easier to set it and forget it! It maintains a 220-225 degree temperature easily after adding the charcoal briquettes and some hickory chunks and adding some additional briquettes after about 3 hours. You can smoke a lot of meat with this size as it has a bottom and top 22 inch grates. I have always loved Weber charcoal grills and even though I own an in ground MHP natural gas grill, I seldom use it. Barbecue ribs come out just right in about 4 hours and I add some apple juice to mix with the water in the water pan. So far I have made ribs and a smoked butt pork roast and they both came out excellent!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good smoker needs some improvements I've used my smoker three time . .It is a very nice smoker but for the price you pay it does need some upgrades . 1. The side door is very cheap . Mine was bent when I opened the box and no matter what I have tried I can't get it to take shape . It leaks smoke and heat badly needs a better door 2. The lid or top needs a hinge on it or a way to hang it . So it can stay on top and you don't have to keep sitting it down . 3. The top needs a better seal so it keep from leaking smoke a round it . 4. Need wheels to move it around out of the way when not in use. I sealed up the leaks with some cloth and was able to use the smoker. The meats smoked up really good . So I will be searching the web for a seal kit and other modes to make this unit perfect . I really wish they would of did this. For the price you pay for this unit all you should have to do is fire it up and smoke your meats ..

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great smoker with one flaw This is a great smoker, the thick walls keeps the heat in at a pretty constant temperature, holds enough coals for the duration of the smoking process. The biggest flaw is the door, it is very flimsy and surprised Weber would use such a inferior door. The whole smoker is made very soundly but the door is cheap and flimsy. It allows lots of smoke out before it can saturate the meat. If it wasn’t for the door this easily would get the full 5 stars for it ease of use and its its performance.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Everyone loves the food it cooks Smoker works well. Often cook for 14-16 hours and it maintains heat well. All of my guests rant and rave over the brisket I cook on the smoker. It's been a great experience all around.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Phenomenal smoker This is the Cadillac of charcoal smokers. I was ready to upgrade my previous smoker (different brand) and decided to go with the Smokey Mountain. Every single thing comes off like it was made by a restaurant or professional pit master. Maybe I can call mysel one now!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice Smoker Overall I've been using the Smokey Mountain over the past two years and it really does a nice job. The aluminum door that doesn't fit well can be upgraded with an aftermarket door (highly recommend), and upgrade the thermometer to make it super nice. The biggest complaint I have (reason for 4 stars and not five) and cant be fixed or upgraded is the way the lid sits into the lip on the body. This allows water to run down through the smoker down into the fire pit if weather turns and your smoking when it starts raining. Also the reason you'll always need to keep it covered or you'll open it to find it full of water in the bottom after a few rain storms or snow. If it had the lip on the lid that sits down on the body like their kettle grills, problem solved. I gave 4 stars for quality because of the door, and 4 stars for design because of the fore mentioned problem with the lid.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best smoker I have ever owed This smoker is easy to use and works GREAT!! I bought this smoker after my previous one was no longer able to be used, I looked around for a long time before deciding to buy The Smokey Mountain 22" Weber. I have owed Weber grilles before and thought this should be just as good as the grills were and I am very glad I made the right choice.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from SmokeTastic! I brought my WSM home about a month ago, and it may now be the favorite member of the family. First smoke -- 2 pork shoulders on the bottom rack / 1 brisket on top. Since then I've done a brisket by itself and another pork shoulder, and I'm lovin' the results. One Modification I did and would recommend: I ran an insulation gasket made for the Green Egg around the edge of the door to sealed it up tight as a drum. No smoke lost there. So far I've gone up to 8 hours holding steady between 225 & 250 degrees without needing to lift the lid. I'd also recommend getting a couple probe thermostats -- which makes accurate temp monitoring much simpler. Other than than... Love it. Glad I got it. Can't wait to fire it up again.
