Good design, but execution is below expectations
Pros: Well balanced, ergonomic, relatively light, snappy and tight motor response. The material quality seems slightly cheaper than older Bosch designs, but still a very solidly built tool. I like that the battery has lights to show how much charge is left.
Cons: The hex bit holder dimensions are too tight; some brands of hex bits just don't seem to fit or are difficult to remove. Its also too DEEP; in some cases, the short screwdriver bits you commonly find in bit sets can't even clear the end of the 1/2" adapter. That said, a simple hex extension solves both problems. Also, the variable-speed trigger is pretty sensitive; getting it to go slow (say, <500rpm) should be easier. Lastly, I'd expect an impact driver kit to include a least one bit along with a spot on the tool to store it - this has neither.

disappointment
I've had mine for a year and only used it a couple of times. I torqued my trailer rims to 90 ft lbs. and this tool won't remove them. The same thing with lawn mower blades. These are the two main things I bought it for.
I've had good luck with Bosch tools, but this one won't do anywhere near what they have rated it to do. It would be ok for light duty work. I wish they would rate them fairly. Very disappointed in Bosch.

Total piece of junk
Most bits won't stay in the 1/4" drive and when they do fit they are practically unremovable. Snapped off the bit inside. Now it's only usable as a 1/2" drive which is too weak to do much at all.

About half the torque advertised…
I got this in a combo kit. I charged the battery and went to use the tool the next day. I had several good sized 3” deck screws that I needed to sink. This driver was very slow to sink the screws in and couldn’t do much more than snug them down. After putting in several screws, I thought the lack of power might be in my mind, so I grabbed my Bosch 12v max driver that maxes at a bit over 900 inch pounds and that was able to sink the same screws faster and further into the wood… I next grabbed my cheap orange driver that’s rated at a bit over 1400 inch pounds and that out performed them both (was expected with the 12v). I own both 12v max bosch drivers and have been very impressed with them, this is why I wanted the 18v Bosch set. I saw a number of reviews and tests stating that it lacked power and wasn’t putting nearly the 1600 inch pounds that was advertised. I chose to ignore these, but in my experience they were right. I would guess the tool puts out somewhere around 800 inch pounds. A highly popular and well regarded YouTuber that tests torque on all brands found the same…. Very disappointed with the tool. Looks like they have a new more powerful version out that might be better, but I’m not sure if I want to waste my time and money to find out.

Awesome power!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this last year around the holidays, and am really pleased with my purchase. I interned at my Uncle’s construction company last summer and got a lot of experience using Bosch tools. After experiencing the power of his Bosch Impact Driver, I knew I needed one. So I bought one for my birthday, and have really enjoyed it.

No torque
Extremely disappointed, discovered how under powered this tool is, when I used my smaller cheap 10-year-old Hitachi hammer drill, and drive the exact same 3 1/2 inch screw into a floor joist. at first I thought it was my imagination, but the Hitachi drove the screw in much faster. I switched over and have been purchasing all Bosch tools, and I’m beginning to regret it. I’m very disappointed in this 1 particular tool, but I have been satisfied with all the many other Bosch tools I own. I need a replacement

Severely underpowered.
I bought this to compliment my impact impact driver, as I found a great deal and it was worth it to get the battery. However, I can't recommend the tool as it does not provide torque as advertised. My older Bosch impact driver, with a lower rated torque, was more successful in a recent automotive project, at taking bolts off. My final test - though not entirely scientific - was to apply maximum torque to install my lug nuts on my car. Removal had not been possible with this driver, but was with my "weaker" driver. The outcome was the same - I achieved around 60 ft-lbs. That's about 720 in-lbs to the advertised 1600 in-lbs. My methodology was to, after applying maximum torque with this driver, increment my torque wrench until it could move the lug nuts.
I was honestly very disappointed as this tool has me questioning my loyalty to Bosch tools. With battery systems all proprietary, we often set out with one company and stick with them. My trust in Bosch has been compromised with this tool and I whole heartedly wish I wasn't considering a break up, though it's the honest truth.
I'm looking at getting a cordless impact wrench to replace an aging off brand corded model I inherited, and I had hoped this tool was going to be a stop gap, recognizing it would mean pulling out the breaker bar more often. Unfortunately, I'm being skeptical of the options offered from Bosch, which is a frustrating place to be as a loyal customer.
