superb miter saw
This saw is excellent
All upgrades made from previous versions of the DWS780 are well thought out and work well
However, both the led light and it's power supply quit working after 3 months

This has been the workhorse of my shop! The power is amazing and will cut through all the hardwood I throw in in front of it. I'd recommend this saw to any of my fellow woodworkers.

Disapointed
I am a loyal Dewalt tool user. After much research and debate, I purchased my DWS780 and was VERY happy with it out of the box. After no more than about 15-20 uses over 9 months, the guidelight quit working. Looking deeper into this it appears that this is not a rare or occasional problem but a regular occurrence. How about some help Dewalt??

Guide light not working after first cut
It's the March 5th 2023, and I just bought this DWS780 miter saw. Tested it with Guide Light ON. After the first test the light died. Part of the reason I bought that one is that I prefer the light over the laser guide. How do I go about having this light replaced ? Thanks

Ok I guess
I prefer my old Ridgid 4221 over this saw, it was bigger in every way, had the same shadow line system crosscut was 3" more. Was much smoother and didn't have this switch on switch BS. Been using it a week now and thought I would get use to this motor trying to launch itself to the moon when you pull the trigger. Yep, I hear some of you calling that powerful, I call it you almost broke my freaking wrist. Almost gotta hang from the handle with both hands to get it to move toward the trim. I could go on and on, but I think I'm going to sell it and get a Bosch and you should too.

Nice, but parts??
Was excited about getting this!! Have used maybe 50 cuts and the led light quit working already. Funny thing is…I can’t find a replacement for this. Just beware before buying…please check replacement part availability. Guess I spent the extra money on this for the light and now it don’t work and I can’t find a replacement part for it.

DWS780 good other than light no longer working
Purchased a DWS780 in February 2022 and has been working great for months. But now the shadow cutline light has stopped functioning. Disappointing quality/longevity of a light that should work for years and years.
