Rated 1 out of 5 by from Unreliable My two cycle Mantis was very unreliable. Sometimes it would crank but most of the time I had to adjust the carburetor to get it to run. I finally gave it away. I do not plan to ever buy another gas powered Mantis product.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Could be Great So everyone out there knows that a Mantis is a great tool IF you can start it. I have been using and working on small engines for over30 years. This is by far, the most tempermental engine to start that I have ever used. When it starts, it is a handy tool. When it does not (95% of the time) it is a waste of garage space. Mine is having an issue with lack of spark. And yes, I know which direction the on off swirtch needs to be in. I suspect the wires have a short or break somewhere. After only a year, I would expect this unit to perform better. Time to re build my 1973 Troy Bilt and go back to basics.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from If I would have known what I know now... ...I wouldn’t have bought this piece of junk! Got it to run two times, now it won’t start. Primer bulb collapses and no fuel getting into the carburetor (I pulled the spark plug and it was dry). Put some fuel in the carburetor and got it to pop but wouldn’t run. Haven’t pulled the filter yet, but shouldn’t have to as the fuel mix is good and works in my chainsaw/weed whip. I have worked on 2 stroke motors for over 20 and have never had issues like this from a new machine. If I can get my money back I’ll pay for the shipping.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from You won't regret it !!! This little lightweight tiller is a monster. It will do the toughest of jobs. This is my second one of these I have purchased in 20 years and the improvements they have made to it are great. Wouldn't trade it for any other brand on the market. Greg S.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Junk They are only good the first year you purchase it, after that throw it away because it will not start. Mine ran the first year after that it would never run. I gave up on trying. It has sat in my garage for the past 6 years collecting dust. Worthless! Don’t buy.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Idle Fast The Mantis did not Idle properly, the tines ran very fast in the idle mode. I did not find any repair shop that would work on my tiller under warranty. I could not adjust the idle using the idle screw, my son in law adjusted the idle using the throttle cable.
