Better than gas...but more trouble
When this trimmer works its great! Unfortunately I've had quite a few issues with mine especially for how little runtime it has. I think this would be an option for anyone with a smaller city lot, however if you have much trimming to do it easily goes through a 9ah battery in under 30 minutes. My first failure with it was with the quick load spool, I replaced that and now a couple of months later the motor smoked and stopped working all together. I will look for something "heavier duty" to replace this, if you don't need long runtimes and don't contend with much more than grass this might still work for you.

Trimmer head jams with weeds
I recieved this trimmer new 2 days ago and have just started using the trimmer. I used this for a short time (1 hour or so) and weeds have got jammed in the trimmer head assembly inhibiting the line from advancing. I have seen this issue crop up a number of times in other reviews. At this time I cannot recommend this for use with long grass and long weeds.

String spool does not work!
The string spool is a nightmare. It is very difficult to string, and then it never ever feeds no matter how hard or often you tap it while it is running. You cannot even hand feed it when it is off. I have to disasemble the spool and remove the string and put it back on.

Motor smokes and quits
I’m on my 3rd one of these trimmers…all 3 have had the same problem where the motor begins to smoke and quits working. I weed eat from April-Oct and they all seem to quit in September. When the trimmer works, it does a great job. My husband and I have invested a lot of money into the batteries, that’s why I’m on number 3. I don’t like using a gas powered trimmer. The is perfect size for me to use. No gas to worry about. I have had a few batteries seem to get stuck and won’t come out. My husband had to help me there. It’s getting expensive buying trimmers ever year.

I'll Never go gas again
Had to give only 3 stars because of the bump head. This is my first season running it hard I'm still on my 1st roll of string the bump head cover is trashed there's a space under the head and the top cover constantly getting packed with clippings and doest allow the string to feed. I'm consistently cleaning it out. Self feed or a redesign would be great

Constant cleaning of debris from shaft.
While using the trimmer around high weeds, grass or things like Spanish moss, debris gets wrapoed around the axle. Both under the spool and over the spool to where the line will not advance when tapped, or jams. Very disappointing. It happens every time I use it.

Poor deflection shield design
This trimmer will definitely handle what you want to cut regarding grass & weeds. Be prepared to be covered with whatever you’re cutting. Definitely wear long pants & eye protection, considering a full face shield. I’ll be trying again with a long sleeve shirt too as my supporting arm is welted from flying debris. This shield is about 1/3 of the size it needs to be & seems to be in there just for cutting excess line. I would have rated all stars if it wasn’t for this & would like to see a retrofit offered. In the meantime, I’ll use my 2-cycle, it’s safer!
