The spool is where the dilemma lies.
I hate giving anything Dewalt a one star rating. The tool itself, sure it functions it works no issue. Where my problem lies is in the spool, which is the magic of this tool. I got this beginning of this year as my other trimmer was on it's last leg. The spool gets eaten up very quickly, I have no concrete on my property and simply hitting the head against the ground to feed additional wire has eaten the spool head cover completely. Good luck trying to find the heads, very frustrating as this is a tool that does take a beating but you would think with the Dewalt brand behind it the spool cover material would be a bit more robust. I, like I am sure many of us here, have all things Dewalt because it is a brand I have come to trust and rely on for years. But will more than likely look elsewhere when it comes to gardening/ lawn care equipment.

Weak trimmer head cover
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Worked ok for awhile. Good battery life, problem is the string head cover is very weak, broke after less than 6 months of usage.

Great for small yard… hard to find spool cap…
I have used the dcst922 for about 2 years now with no issues. For my small property it’s great. Recently the spool cap broke off and needed replaced. Was looking all over online for the actual part and could only find 3rd party parts. I did not want to order these because I have always run into more issues with third party parts but I had no choice. The third party part worked for about 3 minutes and then fell off causing me to try and return the item. This has been a huge hassle and now my edges of the property have been unattended for three weeks and looks terrible. I love my Dewalt products as my garage is full of them but if this is how it’s going to be to fix or replace simple parts… Dewalt, please offer better accessibility to parts for your products. If I had not run into this problem the review would be a 5 star.

cap broke apart
I was enjoying the no cord mobility of this product and bragged to family and friends... but then the cap and broke into pieces and my search for a replacement has become extremely frustrating.

Even the replacement is a dud...
The first trimmer 922B I got in December 2021, never worked properly and was replaced under warranty in March 2022. It was not used much during 2022. This year I used it a couple of times during June until last week when it stopped working.
Looking at the other reviews I seem to be not the only one. I am very disappointed since my other DEWALT tools (chainsaw and leaf blower) are great.
Since the replacement dates from March 2022, please advice if DEWALT will replace again, or that I should purchase another brand weed trimmer

We end up having to return the first one cause we only used it once and it broke on us ! We return it for a new one and the new one was only used for 30 min and it started to do the same thing.

Counterclockwise???
Love the tool. Power and battery time are excellent. But why does it spin counterclockwise and shoot all debris directly at you. Too bad.
