Space needed on rigid line
My main supply line valve was a compression type. It was corroded and leaking. So I decided to replace it. After the city supply valve was turned off, I cut out the old valve. All in all it's worked perfectly. However, here's what I'd like to communicate... The instructions say that it's supposed to cover a gap of up to 2in... Well, I cut the 2in section and it wasn't big enough for me to slip it on. So, long story short, I ended up cutting a total of 6&5/8ths out of the original pipe and using 3&7/8ths with a sharkbite coupling and the slip ball valve... That being said, maybe I could have just cut out 2&3/4ths inches. I haven't had full pressure for years because I was so nervous to mess with it.

Stopped working
Less than a year and the valve no longer works. We have freezing temperatures and I cannot turn off my water. Moving to Off position, water is still running.

Slip valve is not looking enough
Had to replace and old gate valve that would not shut off. In the past I have used a shark bite ball valve and slip fitting. Saw this and was excited as it would reduce the number of connections needed. Ended up still needing another connection because every old valve was a half inch longer then this allowed. Would be a great product and get 5 starts if the slip end were longer.

Quick installation
I cut off an inch to much of copper pipe and this was the perfect fix.
