Great gate for small pets.
I purchased this gate to span across the opening between my porch railings to keep my cat in. Based on the description I expected the gate to be a little short, (I was going to adapt it) the gate was however slightly longer than advertised and worked perfectly. Mastering the width adjustment on the gate took a little practice but is now not a problem. Users should be aware that this gate in not as sturdy as those I used to block stairs when I had small children. For cats or small dogs it works fine. I don't think it would be study enough for a large dog.
