Good system needs a mini size collar.
I got the mini system thinking it would be good for our small dog. Unfortunately, the Collar is way to big for Chihuahua. Specifically, the box part, it is way to big for a Chihuahua's neck and the metal contact points are way to long. There are no shorter prongs to switch out to. Our Chihuahua has an extremely short to nonexistent fur coat. We have tried several ways to get it to fit, but the box part hangs awkwardly and rubs her skin raw very quickly. I would love a smaller box with significantly shorter prongs. The strap parts were easy to cut to correct length.

It deters my cats, but does not keep them away with certainty. If they are motivated enough, they will hang out within the barrier.

Doesn't work for cat
Bought 2 of these to keep my cat away from kitchen counter. Read instructions very carefully. Setup is very finicky, sometimes the transmitter works at a certain range, sometimes it acts as if it was off. Worst thing is that it does not shock my cat. He was just sitting on the counter laughing at me for throwing my money out. He is a domestic Short hair cat. I even trimmed his fur after the first unsuccesful try (as suggested by the manual) cat is still having great times on the counter. I can't see how it would work for a larger pet, a dog for example.

Keeps my pet off the couch!
I have purchased a few of these over the years. The mini ones are perfect for my white couches or just behind the trash. A life saver! When something went wrong, PetSafe helped me right away. Great product. Great company.

No more cat poo snacking
We bought this and an extra collar to keep our dogs out of the litter box. So far, so good. They don't even go near that room since I mounted the transmitter on the doorjamb.

It's ok
The collar works great! But the mini barrier doesn't have a strong radius as I would like. My cat can get way too close and will testit before he runs right through the door. Also he doesn't always get the static correction like he's supposed to. Might need to try something else.
