Rated 5 out of 5 by from Cabot Solid Color Acrylic Stain I have been using Cabot products for over 30 years, most recently acrylic stains for over 20 years on my 1950 vertical (yes, vertical) log home. I live in the NW where winters are cold and rainy and summers are dry. The color and stain have held up great and lasted 10 years or more. No peeling and very slow to fade. It's the only stain I'll use on my home. Granted, I have an excellent overhang that protects the logs, but I have used other stains that peel and have not had that with Cabot if wood is dry and well-cured.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not worth the money We stained our brand new deck last summer with this stain. It looked great until this spring (not even a year later). It’s peeling all over the place! We now have to pressure wash it and start all over. I do not recommend. -To the company, don’t leave a comment saying I should contact you and act like you care. You’re more then welcome to email me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Have used this product for 12 years. Paint my T-111 siding in Driftwood Gray, about 3 times, now. Excellent coverage and durability. I actually try to paint 1 of 4 sides of my house each year; makes the job a lot easier in my case. House pretty much always looks new. I have one side that gets intense sun much of the afternoon, so I do 2 coats on that side only. I only use this product for the deck spindles and rails. For my 60x16 ft. deck, I wouldn't use this product, I use the same color in DeckCorrect for better durability. For the deck stairs, I mix in a little fine sand for extra traction. I like this product and it is the only paint I use for exterior wood and Azek.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Looks great. I bought this product first for my deck and it was so exceptional that I purchased it for my cedar fence. The beauty of it is just like a dream, I have never seen anything like it, no brush marks and such a beautiful color.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Acrylic siding stain may require a primer In general I have had good luck with the solid color acrylic stain. However in some situations the surface requires a primer. I've used it for years on a 40 year old barnboard sided house. In places where there was bare wood I always use a bonding primer first.(when the house was constructed the siding was not painted on the back side) Plastic wood absolutely requires a bonding primer. New pressure treated wood should be allowed to "cure" for one year. I verified that you may have an adhesion problem with pressure treated wood if it is painted too soon. The back of new wood for siding should always be painted (or primed) to improve long term adhesion on the exposed side.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Product does not last.... I would absolutely agree with other comments regarding the longevity of this product. Bought this product in July 2017 when doing maintenance on existing deck. Replaced a few boards, sanded all wood, and used deck cleaner to prepare surface. This product went on great and looked good. Fast forward to May 2019 and the wood has peeled off all over the place on the flat surfaces of old and new boards alike. The vertical faces of railings still looks good, but most of deck looks terrible and people get peeled off latex on their feet if they walk on it. Unfortunately I have recommended Cabot to a couple others prior to Spring 2019; not anymore...

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works well with caveats We've been siding our house with clapboards which I've been staining before we put them up. The color is great, the stain goes on well, except for the rough side (inside) of the siding. If the clapboard isn't clear, the knots will bleed through, and unless you're staining under cover, be sure it's not going to rain until it dries.
