Pleased with final results.
Spent a week prepping, sanding and washing and wanted to make my hard work pay off. Used this product in the past so was familiar with it. Used a competitor 4 years ago and while I was happy with 4 years I couldn’t find what I wanted so came back to Cabot. They had the color the wife wanted in the cordovian leather. I brushed to do it right- don’t feel comfortable with pads or rollers. I am pleased with the finished look and so is the wife. I hope to get 3 years and then I will continue with Cabot. Deck is 13 year old cedar and with proper maintenance and protection should last another 10 or more.

T&G ceiling
Used this to stain on cypress T&G ceiling. It was a pain to find the color match we wanted because the color chart is useless! Tried at least six different colors before were able to match our color! The other issue is the dry time can be in excess of 48 hours depending on the material and abient conditions. I had some boards that took 4 days to dry. The one coat coverage is spot on and overall it produced a great finish look. My four star rating is based on stain application and final results.

Horrible Coverage
We had bought are first gallon, read reviews and contemplated husband who is contact or swore by Cabot second to ….. who does not carry semi-transparent! Should have listened! Five gallons later it looks like crap! Some area are shiny some areas are lighter! Looks like we used two products. Even bought Cabot’s applicator another waste of $$$! Going to let weather one season and go back over with competitors Deck Paint.

Love the dark color
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used cabot stain in cardovan leather semi transparent stain on my farm gate. It's already been 2 years since I stained my gate and it still looks great! I live where it's hot and sunny almost all year and the color is holding up really well. No noticeable fading whatsoever. I just built a barn and will be staining the exterior with cabot stain.

New Construction Hemlock Barn
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The barn project was completed in the Spring of 2012. This picture was taken 9 months later. Our goal was to maximize the wood grain, so we chose the semi-transparent Barn Red color. Excellent product, we initially applied two coats and 6 years later we applied another coat. 11 years later and the product has held up veery well, no peeling or cracking.
