Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works great! I bought this two days ago. there was a mouse that had dashed into the bedroom twice in one night. (hopefully not two mice!) I had the property manager out the next morning and they set two traps. A wooden old style baited with peanut butter and a closed baited box. I could only guess at the placement because the mouse was so fast I could not cross the room to watch it exit into the hall. After the first night with no result, I purchased two Tomcat brand snap traps. They are really nice. Extremely easy to set. The Tomcats I placed were set with no bait. I bought them to cover more possible areas and held out little hope. With four traps in the area, I was first alerted by the Tomcat thumping in the utility closet. Followed by a few seconds of the trap (apparently) rapidly popping up and down on the wood floor. Then Silence! I went to the hall, and checked the traps. The one in the closet where I had placed it a few inches away from the wall had a dead mouse in it. I did not put it facing the wall. I had placed it in the path toward the space under the door into the hall. The head of the mouse was in the trap. (photo included) NO bait except the yellow plastic "cheese" trigger plate! Pics done, picked up the trap and unceremoniously carried it to the dumpster and let the trophy drop with a simple pinch of the trap. (For purposes of concealing the nature of my trip to the dumpster, I covered the trap and mouse with a washcloth. Didn't want to alarm the neighbors!) I have reset the trap and switched it out with the other new Tomcat that I moved into the closet with the original baited box trap from the property manager. My sincere thanks for the quick and reliable action of the Tomcat!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Do Not Work! I have tried a number of these, and even though they feel like you have set them, most will not snap when the trap is sprung. I have tried numerous ideas to make them work, but have concluded they are a waste of time and money!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not the best These traps are subpar at best out of the package. When the mouse does get caught it’s either by its back legs or by the neck yet still alive. It’s rare to find a caught mouse dead in these traps. Also, after just a few uses the traps refuse to stay set. I squeeze the back to open it and it immediately snaps shut again. If the trap wears out after just a couple uses then it’s poorly and cheaply designed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Never fails I've used these traps several times now and they've caught the invaders every time. I put the nut butter way back in the trap and place them parallel to the wall. Only the very end and the tail of each mouse trapped has been visible, which I appreciate aesthetically and because the trap appears to be about as humane as a trap can get. And, since there's no poison involved, I just toss the mouse into the lawn for local mouse eaters to dispose of. I'm sorry I need these, but when I do, these are the only traps I'll use. Thanks Tomcat!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Garbage I bought this product and the mice just eat the bait and walk away , DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Weak Sauce I bought four of these traps and set them up in an area with evidence of heavy mouse activity. Imagine my disappointment when two of them didn't even spring after multiple attempts--despite the fact that the bait had been partially or completely eaten. This morning I woke up and found mouse droppings INSIDE one of the unsprung traps (see exhibit A below). As far as I'm concerned, these only provide a safe, cozy little cafe where the mice can eat a free dinner. Fifty percent performance rate? That's a failing score, Tomcat.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Terrible, absolutely terrible. Brand new, used for the past 4 nights. Mouse is taking the bait right out of it and they aren't even being triggered. Nothing is wrong with it, they're brand new. I can barely touch it and it snaps shut. All we are doing is feeding the mouse. Pathetic and a disappointment. Do not buy this product. I don't see how anyone can catch a mouse in it or how it even kills it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worked for me Bought several of these traps. Caught 5 mice thus far. Sometimes mice take a few days to get attracted to the peanut butter bait but that is not the fault of the trap. What I like is the no touch disposal of the dead mouse. Even people who are very sqeamish about mice don’t mind picking the trap up and disposing of it. The trap killed my mice stone dead, usually while I was asleep. Allin all a great product.
