Rated 1 out of 5 by from Squirrel X Bird Feeder 4 Port I bought one of these yesterday to keep squirrels away from feeding the birds! Put it up and this morning, squirrels were eating the seeds! It should be noted on the outside of the packaging that the spring tension can not be adjusted to allow or deny different birds or lighter squirrels. Not happy!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from All the seeds fall on the ground The seeds always fall immediately to the ground the second there is a little bit of movement. Very dissapointed, the squirrels on the other hand are loving it the food is there for the taking

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not even close to squirrel proof Nice looking feeder and easy to fill. Failure is the Squirrels hang from the two support wires and have full access to the feed ports..took them 2 days to figure it out. If they actually get on the cage it works as advertised but mine went to trapeze school. They also managed to pull one of the port covers out….when that’s out the seed just flows out of it… I was able to glue the port back in but still trying to see if I can figure a way to keep them from hanging. If this had a large rain cover/ hood instead of the small one it would work great. They would have to put pressure on the cover to lay on it as they reach around.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Great concept, POOR execution The concept is elegant. A simple redesign of the spring mechanism would bring the actual product to the same level. The springs are too heavy, meaning even large squirrels do not have enough weight to close the ports. You realize backyard birds are not heavy creatures, right? Hollow bones and all that? Reducing the spring tension by half would still allow a bird on every perch without activating the shutter. Instead of posting responses directing people to place their feeders elsewhere, try incorporating these real-world experiences into a simple redesign that would make this product reach it's awesome potential.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Hole insert needs re-engineered This feeder has issues with the D shape inserts which limit seed from flowing out the holes. The inserts would benefit from a slots in the clear plastic that are 11 and 5 o’clock vs 12 and 6. Then they could be inserted and turned slightly to lock in place. As they exist now there is not enough contact area to retain then. Easily pop out and seed drains out. This is our second experience with this product failure as well as one with a double suet feeder. Functionality would be fine with more attention to design detail and heavy enough components.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from We love this feeder! The birds enjoy it and the squirrels haven't figured it out.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Regrets! Wish I had read these reviews before I bought mine. YEP, squirrels use their back feet to hang upside down on the wire hanger, & then they just eat away through the open ports. This morning, I found blood, so the poor critter obviously cut his back leg/foot while holding on. I'll be returning it....but the good part is that the cage & feeding ports are made of metal so at least squirrels aren't chewing them--yet....

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Squirrel proof ? Have had two of these feeders for almost a year. Watching the Squirrels hang upside down and eat the bird seed. These are not made for Gray Squirrels. They are not heavy enough to trip the springs. Not worth the cost of these . Also the bottom metal opening keeps coming out and I had to try and glue it back in, but it doesn’t last. Therefore I loose all the bird seed.
