Keeps grackles out
The feeder is a good size for my mom and allows the birds she likes to get to the feed while stopping the bigger more aggressive birds access. She likes watching them try though.

Love the little birds from
Also perfect for keeping large birds away.
Purchased this feeder to keep the Starlings from eating all the food and this works. The little birds love it and the Starlings quit coming around because they cannot reach the feeder. And as an add bonus, the squirrels quit coming around also.

Fantastic for Keeping Away Big Birds
I bought one like this last summer and it DID THE JOB! It wasn't until I just bought another version of the "keep the big birds out" feeder from another company that I realized how much I love this one. The difference? There's only holes on the bottom of this one and there's a solid tray on the bottom of the new one, so the big birds hang sideways and eat out of the tray. I even tried hot gluing tacks all along the bottom and up the sides a little ways and that hasn't stopped them (who knew black birds were so darn smart!). Bottom line, I just ordered another one of this type and can't wait until it arrives. Note: the black birds do hover on the ground in order to get anything the small birds flip out of the feeder and the owl and hawk I bought to scare them away haven't worked either. I read that I have to get an owl that moves, but they warn that even then the black birds will catch on. Can you tell I don't like black birds. Must have been the movie, "The Birds."
