Rated 5 out of 5 by from Much easier to use than a regular rototiller Less time and effort than my front tined rototiller for my garden.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great machine - greater engine I specifically purchased the unit with a Honda engine. I have used this engine on my Versattach and it is a pleasure to use. no mixing, easy oil changes, a pleasure to work with. The Honda engine was the selling point to me and am not disappointed. Already using to turn soil in yard and am waiting for dethatcher/aerator combo as it was backorderd (dethather and aerator were the reason i purchased the machine) and everything else is a benefit. Things to consider: (1) wheel kit while expensive is a very convenient addition; (2) unsure of the "cutting" aerator as i usually use a core aerator - will update once i start using and (3) love the hanging kit and am happy to have scored that before the discontinued item is out of stock. Last thing - really consider what you are going to use this for - the wider unit was of interest to me but the cost differential was not. thus far, this smaller unit fills all of my needs in a suburb of New York City (1/4 acre)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it!! I had rented this tiller several years in a row and knew it was exactly what I wanted. I was surprised at the ease of assembly. It starts perfectly and the tines are a breeze to remove and clean. I used it today to prepare my brassica garden. Perfect!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It's Quiet! It's lightweight! It does the job! Have only run this for a day. It's a lot quieter than the 2 cycle version and seems to do the job as well. Cons: Initial starting of the engine seemed difficult. Reading the directions is imperative. Since it is 4 stroke, you need engine oil and need to check the levels. Someone complained about gas consumption but I guess it consumes gas. The tines do seem to collect weeds. Probably means you need to till more!! Pros: Very quiet compared to the 2 stroke version. It's lightweight so you do not have to kill yourself managing it. If it is bucking, you have something very hard below.. such as bricks. It's relaxing gardening, you are in the upright position so that's a plus. Overall: I broke down and bought real gasoline and it's darn expensive. The stuff with ethanol in it is really bad for the carburetors and it's not something you can repair, you will need a new carburetor but they are cheap at the place that is named after a big tropical river. Either drain your ethanol gasoline or buy the real stuff. My two stroke lasted 8 years but... it was out of my hands for a while and not functioning perfectly now. The biggest problem has been clogging of air filters and corrosion on the handles. Well, weeds in the tines is a thing, keep tilling, it's fun !

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lightweight but very useful I actually didn’t buy one but I rented one after using a tiller but being not so successful breaking up clay soil. I needed to get further down and to till in some garden soil so after reading about the Mantis products I went and rented one and it chopped up that clay soil and mixed in the garden soils(about700 pounds worth), with ease. By angling the handles a certain way, the weight of the motor helps drive the blades down quickly and without all of the roughness of a tiller. As recommended by Mantis, letting the unit go forward and then pulling it backward slowly really worked well. I highly recommend these products.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor Quality and Terrible Customer Support--Don't Buy After only 2 uses one of the tines of the tiller bent. Since the documentation included with the products said "Lifetime Tine Warranty" I thought I was ok. However I was told by customer service that only breakage is covered by the warranty, not tine bending, etc. I bought this tiller for my wife to use in her garden beds because of it's light weight. That is the good point. However, with this defect and then Mantis not standing behind the products quality I can only guess what I'm in for. I definitely would discourage anyone from buying this or any other Mantis product.
