The Chapin bag seeder is great for small areas or hard to reach places where a push spreader or tow-behind can't go. Featuring a heavy-duty, waterproof, zipper-top bag, the bag seeder is compatible with a variety of seeds and granular fertilizers. A rear baffle keeps seeds from filling your shoes and pockets, an enclosed gear box protects gears from the elements, an adjustable shoulder strap and a convenient application chart (located on the bottom of the spreader) make this spreader easy to use.

Worked great to begin with...
Bought this spreader and the GameKeeper branded spreader yesterday to get my food plots planted at the hunting camp. Worked great to begin with, but the more seed/fertilizer we put out, the worse the spreader got. At one point, it locked up completely. I spun the spreader wheel by hand and got it working again, only to have it act like the gears are stripped...the handle will turn a little, then make a loud clicking noise, then turn a little more, then make the loud clicking noise again. The same thing happens with the GameKeeper spreader also...which makes sense as they are the same spreader with a different color bag. Let's see if they stand behind their products like they claim to

Makes spreading seed an ease

Just dump in your seed, zip the top up, decide which setting for spreading, and off you go! This made spreading so much easier than the smaller hand held options! Get a lot done, and quickly. Must have!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am a 5'6" woman and found this very easy to use. The bag is easy to carry and maneuver. i would make sure when storing you keep the bag in a dry place. the spreader could get stuck and not spin properly if there is anything clogged.

Odd to handle
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It works well for seeding but is awkward to hold and crank. Maybe if we're styled more like a backpack. Easy assembly and to adjust seed dispersal parameters. Nice guide on the bag to help determine what number to place the seeder on for dispersion. Fits awkward and being a thin but avg height female I had to adjust the strap all the way down. That meant moving the rubber shoulder pad on the other side if the metal piece that is used to adjust. That was a pain. I would go for a hand seeder to do the task next time. Easier and less awkward.

Sturdy bag.

Also very easy to adjust if needed. really like that it's something I can handle to take care of my yard and not have to pay someone else! Worth trying!

Actually good
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So this and actually fun for me to use I really really enjoyed it for some reason it works really well periodic out and even spray on the seeds I did notice that before using this I wasn't sprang and enough and now I'm realizing that hopefully I'll be able to use this and actually get better results on my grass.

A great space saver
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a good product, it does what we need. There is nothing fancy about it! The seeder has a variety of settings, holds 25# of seed, it's easy to clean and saves space in the garage as it is fairly compact.
