Other uses for trap
Also good for trapping chipmunks. Cover trap with box to prevent unwanted catches.
Peanut butter for bait.

Bait is gone, trap is still there
I use peanut butter, a big gooey serving that I have to push down into the hole on these traps (plural, I bought TWO of these useless things). Apparently, the rats can just come up, clean out the hole, and never set off the trap. I've reloaded them twice thinking it was just a one off, but nope. Total waste of money.

Only tortures rats
Woke up the day after setting it to find a rat desperately trying to remove the trap that seemed to have just gently crushed it's skull a little bit. Squeaks of misery, panicked movements... Literally the opposite of a humane kill. We had to release it, chase the poor maimed thing, and finish the job with a shovel. What a horrible device.

Awful, Did not kill the rat
Though it did catch the rat it did not kill it, and it was not a large rat at all. What a horrible experience, it kept thrashing and trying to run away. Completely unacceptable

Most effective trap for me
I raise chickens and grow lots of fruits in my backyard, so rats and mice are always a problem. I have tried many different ways and used several different types of traps, this plastic toothed snap trap is the winner. It trapped way more rats than any other trap, and it also works on mice too. The only flaw is that it often doesn't kill the rats with its closing jaw, leaving the rats struggle until I see it, but I hate these pests so much, I still want to give a 5-star rating here although it's a little "inhumane" to the rats.

Cheap - Breaks after one Snap
Very cheap plastic latch that hold it back in loaded position. It breaks very easily. If the rat sets off the trap without getting caught it breaks the plastic latch and you can not reset and try again. It becomes useless and have to throw it away
