Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice hardy mix for Northeast Ohio [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've used this mix for many years both to thicken and to plan from scratch with great results in northeast Ohio. I've tried other brands and locally-produced mixes and this one always produces the best results. Of course, you must take care of the seed until it sprouts and establishes itself. I'll continue to use this mix and don't hesitate to recommend it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Midwest [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I live in the Midwest and I have some hard to grow spots in my yard. I applied this product to those spots and it was very quick to sprout up some grass. I'm very happy with this and love looking at my yard once again. Very easy to apply and simple to use. Overall very happy with this product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excited to use [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I live in the midwest, and I have a few patches in my yard that don't want to grow. I've used quite a few grass grow products, and they always disappoint. I'm excited to use this grass seed, and find out if it works. Just have to wait for the weather to warm up a bit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Multipurpose [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Coating technology helps retain water around the seed and provides initial fertilizer for rapid initial growth. Seed varieties optimized for Midwest states to withstand frigid winters and hot,dry summers.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to use [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This Scott's turf builder grass seed Midwest mix is just what I was looking for. It is very easy to use. We are using it for overseeding to fill in our yard. The bag says to mow lawn on lowest setting and bag clippings, then rake to loosen soil. Apply with a spreader, on the back of the bag it has recommended setting for different spreaders. Lightly rake the seeds into the soil and water daily. The seed has no odor, it has a coating to protect against disease, keeps them moist 2x longer and it feeds to Jumpstart growth. We will be laying the seed this spring and can not wait to see how wonderful our yard looks.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful and thick! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had a lot of areas in my yard that were ugly landscaping I wanted to put back to grass. Scott’s Midwest Blend was fantastic. It came in really thick and even, and compared to other seed I’ve used before didn’t seem to need as much water or maintenance to get it there. I would absolutely recommend this product to anyone needing grass seed!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] In November we bought a brand new house in Ohio. Our backyard was laid with grass seed from the builder but we wanted to help aid the process. We used this mix and we started seeing growth a couple weeks later. We are now in the dead of winter but we will continue using it come spring time soon. I will update my review come spring.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid product great value [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used this product to overseed my yard and fill in some bare spots. My yard was thinning and this did just a impressive job of making my yard more thick and full and I just love how great the green looks as well. I am in love with the color of my grass from this seed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for bare lawns [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this a month ago. Our lawn is very bare in some spots. Our front yard is hilly and is hard to grow grass in. We have tried several other grass seeds with no luck. This turf builder works wonders! I now have grass growing in those tough areas! This is well worth the money!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic product [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’m unable to apply this product yet due to the weather. But because of the extreme confidence I have in the multitude of Scott’s product I’ve used over the years, I have the utmost confidence nothing will change.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Looking forward to a beautiful lawn [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am waiting for the right time to be able to use this grass seed. I would like to be able to give a proper review after my lawn comes in in the spring along with photos. I have used Scotts products before and they never let me down.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Looks easy to apply [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Got this in January. It is to early to plant in my area. I am looking forward to be able to try it. the product appears like it will be easy to apply. I've had good luck with other Scotts products and see no reason to think this would be any different.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Grass seed [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This was sent to me in January, and obviously I haven't used it yet. However, I know that Scotts wants a quick review despite the fact that I have nothing relevant to say. So I will say that I'm amazed that a full size bag/container is provided every time (I would have expected a sample size), and that it's always a good quality product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Grows Quickly! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I prepped an area where we did a lot of dirt work. I used according to the package. I can believe how fast the grass came up. It is mostly full coverage with the occasional spot that didn’t grow. I will definitely use this again in the rest of our yard.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I live in Missouri and this seed is perfect. I laid it down a week or 2 ago and it’s growing in very nice and not Patchy. It’s thick and great color. The application was easy and I have zero complaints. I definitely recommend if you want a fast growing seed that will grow in a state like Missouri!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great seed [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received a 20lb bag of Scott’s Turf Builder Grass Seed Midwest Mix from Scott’s Miracle Gro, and this grass seed worked great! It didn’t take long to seed and root and now we have a lush green lawn again! I also like that it’s made to withstand harsh winters and hot dry summers. A great grass seed!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome product [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have bought this product multiple times now and it has been so good to my yard. When I moved in there was dead spots, bare spots, and a lot of damage from rodents but after using this product the past few years all of those problems are done. I would highly recommend to anyone living in the Midwest!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works fast and holds up [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Scotts Turf builder Grass Seed Midwest works well, starts seeding within 10 days. Grass holds up to dog traffic. You might have to reseed if your dog circles the same path. Otherwise the grass works great. Just moved and will be reseeding my lawn with this grass seed once the weather allows.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Can't wait to use! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I cleared two decent size areas last fall and i can't wait to plant this seed and see how it does. It is currently winter now in Ohio, so there isn't much I can do right now. Scotts brand has never disappointed before and I doubt it will this time!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect mix for what I need [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Incredibly straightforward and simple to use. A great mix for what I need to overseed and take care of a number of other bare spots in the yard. Won't hesitate to use again. Highly recommend it to anyone!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Bad batch of seed I bought this a couple of months ago. I raked the dead grass out and created grooves in the soil. I spread this midwest mix down and covered it with additional soil and kept it watered. After a month some grass appeared. A few weeks later I scratched the soil and layed more seed. Kept it watered and it barely germinated. Another area in the back yard started fresh where a tree was taken out. This seed was planted in mid October and have not seen any results yet. I live in the 48313 area. The front got all day sun and the back afternoon sun.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from SPENT MORE, GOT LESS Follow up to my previous review... Planted my grass about two months ago, came in reasonably thick with a few bare spots due to wash out. fast forward about a month and its starting to die off in large areas. it just couldn't handle the heat and full sun. really disappointed with the results, will attempt an overseed in the fall but I have very little confidence. FYI i'm on Long Island watered 4 times a day until the yard was established, switched to once a day and then to deep watering, and never let the soil get over dry, i would recommend something else.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Horrible grass type coming in I’m not sure what “Midwest” mix refers to, but see attached photo for what you will get. This is not the grass we wanted. Much of the grass we got is this thick- leafed, different height and different grow rate with multiple sprouts from one seed- looks like “Dallas” grass to the best of our research

Rated 5 out of 5 by from One week later, great germination and growing well Follow the directions and it grows great. leveled the area with 5 yards of top soil, dropped Scotts stage 1 or seeding fertilizer and made my first pass with the seed. Then a quick light raking and then made the second pass in the other direction and covered in 1/4 of peat moss. Watered between 2 and 6 times a day for the past 10 days and grass is growing splendidly. Did have some washout due to some heavy rain but i think i'll be ok. the Fescue should fill in the spots. People complaining about no germination obviously did something wrong, either let the seed dry out or soil temp is just too low for germination.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Scott's seed is garbage I this Scott's seed and it has been over two months and it's still not going very well, not even an inch tall yet.i don't want to hear any lame sorry.because you are not sorry and you only care about the money and that's it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Did not grow We bought a big bag of this Northeast mix to reseed a spot in our front lawn where we took out a large bush. We bought more than 30 bags of topsoil, leveled it and then made the mistake of buying Scott's Northeast Mix. It didn't grow at all, it's been 3 weeks and it seems to have been a waste of money. Very disappointed, it was expensive seed and unfortunately I didn't save the bag. Won't buy Scott's again.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Didn't Germinate after months at all I used this in May and it never germinated at all. The ground is still dirt with some crabgrass that grew. The other scotts quick fix grass planted the previous year died after 2 months of growing also.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor Performer I put down some of this seed on a newly prepared area last spring, babied it along as it germinated, and it grew well enough during the summer. However, by October it was brown and dead. Adjacent established grass was green right up until it was covered with snow. This spring, I have bare soil in that area since not a single blade of the Northeast Mix has emerged. This stuff performs like an annual plant, not a perennial.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Scotts! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used it as a patch for bald patch in lawn. It worked great and provided professional outcomes. I wouldn't buy anything but Scotts. Quick results with beautiful views. I finished up with Scotts Starter fertilizer with quicker sprouts.
