I should have read reviews first
This was full of a lot of wood, plastic pieces and rocks. I had to buy this for a tortoise enclosure, to mix with other substrate and it's not even useable. I special ordered it to ship to my local store.

Full of trash
Purchased 6 bags of Earthgro top soil to add to our garden as we have had fairly good success with with Scott's products. Was very disappointed to find trash, rocks and bits of brick in the soil. We had to rake through the trash as this was on a vegetable garden! I would not mind a bit of sticks or organic matter but where did this come from a land fill?! Highly disjointed. I will definitely not be buying or endorsing this product any more and plan to be much more cautious about selecting products from this manufacturer!

Topsoil
I bought 20 bags of the topsoil to level up a low area to control standing water. But every time it rains it is all washed away because the top soil looks like shredded bark and they float in water.

Out of 4 bags, 1 full bag worth of junk
I have used this product in the past and been very happy. Last week I bought 4 bags and out of those 4 bags, I got 1 full bag of Rocks, large wooden sticks, and bit of trash, including 4 large pieces of plastic. I certainly understand small amounth of rock and other materials, but this was way too much.
I do appreciate this forum for feedback.

No soil just sand, sticks and rocks
Bought at Home Depot previous years and was decent quailty, this year it was mostly sticks and rocks. Very disappointed. I expect when the bag says top soil it means dirt. I sent in for refund, will see if you honor it.

Worked like a charm....
Bought this at Home Depot for a few cents over $2 a bag. I used this to form a new bed after mixing with Kellogg's Amend and the natural clay soil. The result is a beautiful lawn that is the best I've ever had.

Great value or is it? Quality control of bag contents an issue
I was amazed last her how many weeds immediately came up in my garden after putting on the Earthgro product(s). This year I now know why that was, after purchasing I was gone for about 14 days before I was able to put the Earthgro Topsoil product on the garden. When I returned I had weeds growing thru the bags. I first pulled all the weeds from the exterior of the bags. Some had roots thru the bottom of the bags growing into the soil, and clear out of the top of the bag. I wish I had taken a picture of the weeds growing out of/thru the bags. I then spread the approximate 20 bags out on my garden and picked up more WEEDS. Its bad enough fighting mother nature's spreading of weed seeds, its another to unexpectedly buy them and plant them yourself, poor quality control? I have another source for topsoil, a little more work to go get in bulk, but beats planting the weeds in my garden and spending a lot of time weeding. The bags where more easily accessed, transported and applied. Most likely won't buy again after this experience nor recommend for garden applications. Picture just shows weeds picked up as pouring out contents.

The bags I bought did NOT contain topsoil!
The product was almost a 100% sand; it also contained a small amount of clay. There did not appear to be any organic material in this product. This is the only 'topsoil' carried by Home Depot in my area.
