Rated 5 out of 5 by from Scott’s Step 1 Fertilizer and Crabgrass Preventer Not quite a month since this was spread on the grass, but turf has greened up and looks great. Will have to wait and see if crabgrass preventer is effective later this summer.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Didn't work at all, have tons of crabgrass coming I followed the directions, applied this when it said to and I have tons of crabgrass coming up (it is coming up ahead of some of the grass and almost seems like it is thriving).

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Product - IF you use it TWICE per year!! If you read the product literature VERY carefully, you will learn that the crabgrass preventer only last for between 90 and 110 days. Therefore, if you don't want crabgrass in the late summer/early fall (and the following year as well), you must re-apply it mid-summer to get year-round protection. I don't know why Scotts doesn't make that critical fact more prominent in their product advertising. Otherwise, it's a very good product!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I Live By Scott’s 4 Step Program for years I am a Scott’s 4 Step Program Believer and have been for years. 16 years ago I built my home and laid sod to jump start my lawn. I did my research and wanted to find out the best lawn care program out there. Scott’s 4 Step Process had great reviews so I gave it a try. Every year I am complemented on my lawn all year round, that it looks thick and healthy. A few of my neighbors who had lawn care services, we’re never completely satisfied with how their yard turned out each year. they asked what I used, I gave them the information and now they are avid Scott’s 4 Step users; as a matter of fact one of my neighbors yards have never looked so good until he started using the four step process. By the way, I’m the only woman on my Block that maintains and cares for her yard - and yes I get a little self satisfaction knowing that I have a better yard than some of the guys. Lol

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Scott’s step 1 Unfortunately this bag may have had a problem. My grass usually turns green after a few weeks of application but this one has not. I have been using Scott’s 4 step for about 5 years and the lawn looked great every year but this one unfortunately.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Wet fertilizer I have been using this product for 3 years. Last year it had wet clumps so it kept blocking my spreader. The dandelions still appeared. This year the same thing. When this incident happened the first time I was willing to give this another try. Same issue as last year. Next year I will be trying a new product.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Wet & clumpy in the bag I just bought my entire 4-step yesterday. It’s a beautiful day today so I wanted to apply step 1. I opened the non-damaged bag to find wet & clumpy product in the bag. It won’t dispense from my Scotts’ drop-spreader. I am wasting a considerable amount of time hand-spreading it. I hope steps 2-4 are dry. Otherwise, it’s step zero next year. The only reason I gave it a “1” was that it is the lowest star on the scale.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Scotts Fertilizer I had a lawn service and very disatisfied with them. I cancelled the lawn service and used Scotts 4 step program. My lawn never looked so good. My neighbors made a comment that it looked like a golf course.
