Rated 1 out of 5 by from Didn't kill dandelions; Didn't stop crabgrass I've typically used Scotts Turf Builder Halts Crabgrass Preventer with Lawn Food in early spring as a pre-emergent crabgrass treatment, with fairly good results - at least relative to crabgrass, so I was interested in trying the new Triple Action Turf Builder product, as I've always had issues with dandelions (yes, despite regularly using Scotts products as recommended). When I say I had good results, I mean that I never had any problems with any crabgrass popping up until the really hot days of August arrive - which crabgrass appears to thrive during. In addition, I regularly use a high cut height for the lawn (3-1/2" to 3-3/4"), so as to let the grass try to crowd out the weeds. Frankly, it seems to just encourage the dandelions to grow taller, in order to compete. I purchased 3 bags and applied the product when the forsythias started to bloom locally - when dandelions were up, but before emergence of crabgrass. Several weeks later, not only are the dandelions still flourishing and multiplying, but I have crabgrass and other non-desirable grasses popping up all over the yard, which I've never had before in spring. Maybe the problem is that with the cool spring we had in NJ, temperatures were NOT consistently between 60 and 80 degrees. There's actually been no consistency at all. It's been cool and windy. The temp dropped to 25 degrees and it snowed just a couple of weeks ago (in May). So if the success of the product is entirely temperature-dependent, maybe the problem is simply that we never achieved the ideal conditions for application. That said, I'd like to think that the product would have worked on at least ONE of the two issues it claims to address - either crabgrass or dandelions, and it did NEITHER. I'm absolutely disappointed in having spent the money on this product. Since enough time has passed since the Triple Action application, I just applied a few bags of Scotts Turf Builder Weed & Feed₃ early this morning, while the lawn was still wet, which will hopefully help to knock down the dandelions and other lawn weeds (clover, ground ivy, etc). Time will tell - but it doesn't erase the failure of the Triple Action product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from As advertised!! My yard is tough to keep healthy because of the tree cover and what I thought was bad soil. Used Scott’s triple action for the first time this spring and it looks just like the picture. I have never tried fertilizing my lawn on my own before and I’ll never pay anyone to do it again

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not as good as past products I would not purchase again. Does not do a good job on dandelions or especially did nothing to prevent clover.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best lawn I’ve ever had To be brutally honest I thought Scott’s fertilizer was priced too high so I-never tried it. So with Covid-19 I shopped local and decided to give this product a shot! It’s worth every penny. Best lawn I’ve every had here in 35 years. Lawn thickened up and grows well. The color is awesome and I had only one dandelion trying to grow. I put this down mid April and the results were incredible. I also used pelitized lime like every year but this new fertilizer Ibought was well worth it.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from It’s ok Recently started treating my lawn. I thought I was late to the party treating for crabgrass so I bought triple action. Applied early spring around Easter when it was above 60 for about a week. Applied at 6:00 in the morning with morning dew and had 48 hours of sun before a half inch of rain came. I don’t expect miracles over night. I feel it killed some dandelions but a lot came up after that. Yesterday morning I applied weed n feed Scott’s. I’ll give Scott’s products 2 years before I make my decision on changing. Don’t expect changes over night. Might purchase a spray weed killer for the summer to try and get a head.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Feeds the weeds, does nothing for the grass!! I had been a long time Scotts user, but switched to the big box brands a few years ago. When Triple Action came out, I thought I'd give it a try. Boy was I disappointed. I followed the directions perfectly. It did nothing to weeds. They look healthier now than before I put the fertilizer down! It costs twice the price and works half as good as the no-name brands. Save yourself some $$ and buy something else.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Really Great But doesn't Kill Clover I've used Triple Action for several years. Very happy with weed control and it looks fantastic, actually better than neighbors who use the lawn fertilizer services, but I always end up with clover about a month or so after applying. Maybe that's when the clover normally emerges, but the triple action isn't stopping it. Product info says not to apply for another 4 months, so what should I use for the clover? Regular Scotts Weed & Feed?
