Rated 1 out of 5 by from Undocumented grass seed They don't disclose the seed on the packaging. If they did, no one would buy it. Don't buy it! I'm so disappointed.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from DON'T BUY THIS!!! I spread six 40 pound bags and had very minimal growth. WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY. DON'T BUY THIS!!!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Dissatisfied I have used Pennington the last few years. I began over seeding after aeration to include starter fertilizer. What seed has germinated is starting to die out in sunny spots. I have irrigation so the areas receive regular watering. I am very dissatisfied. I used the contractor mix.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from This product line should be called garbage grass Note how you are unable to determine what is in contractor grass. It is the garbage left over from other products. This is the grass that homeowners must fight to eradicate after its use on their well cared for lawns.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Well that explains my dead grass!!! Horrible Seed After reading the negative reviews I learn why my grass died. It's junk grass seed!! We must have blown over $300 in seed for our new house lawn only to have it look awesome for about 3 weeks after it came in...then it started to die section by section. Only grass left is the Scott's seed I planted. Never again. DO NOT BUY unless you want to waste your money.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from I would never buy this again... Everywhere I planted this is not right back to dirt. All of it's dead. I used another brand seed right beside this and it's fine. Thanks for the terrible product.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from SEED NOT IDENTIFIED Yeah this is just rye grass which would be FINE if on absolutely anywhere on this 40 pound bad it said "hey this is rye grass". But it doesn't which if for sure in purpose because this bag is huge. Like even if it was in the fine print I would be cool with it. Ugh

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I'm sold on it!! I've had little hope with seed, sod and even put lime to kill oak acid. I tried the contractor grade an it took off in 7 -10 days. Loo k s great. I am getting more but waiting to see if it dies off at that price$20. also I don't know when to cut it!! HELP!!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Does my contractor's mix contain annual or perennial rye I bought a bag of contractors mix and it responded well to my lawn. Just learned there's an annual and perennial grass and I have no idea what I planted in my yard. The bag just says contractors mix. Please advise. Thanks.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Remove this product from the market After I found out what was in the "mix" I dug it up and threw it away, along with the $45 bag of seed. I will never buy a Pennington product again, and I may file a complaint with Consumer Affairs.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from I would not buy this product I didn't understand why my re-seeded areas were lighter in color and died in the summer. Finally, a customer demanded to know the mix: perennial ryegrass, annual ryegrass, and a teensy bit of tall fescue. This is mostly junk grass and a waste of time and money.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from seed is NOT identified on the bag There is no where on the bag where the type of seed in the mix is identified!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Terribly disappointed. I bought this based on the positive reviews, but was terribly disappointed that hardly any grass grew. I had the yard aerated, covered with straw and watered accordingly and nothing. I live in a community with more than 5,000 homes and was quite embarrassed that there were no results. For the cost (especially these days), I expected more and was hopeful.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Greens up, then dies off I followed the directions per the bag. Layered the seed with a Pennington straw mat. Watered per instructions. The seed grew within days, grew in full and green, then died off with in weeks without any additional growth. Spend over $500 on seed and straw to have nothing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome grass seed product I have planted grass seed products on the side of my house that does not get much sun. And did not get good results. I purchased the Pennington contractor grade seeds a few weeks ago and the results are amazing!! My grass has always been patchy with weeds and mud.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from I wouldn't buy this product again. I spread it on my lawn and watered everyday for 10 days. We even had quite a bit of rain in Lakeland, Florida during the same period for two days. The seed never germinated. Here it is 12 days later and when I looked closely on my lawn, I can still see the seed. Very disappointed. I purchased a 20 lb bag as well as a smaller one. NO GRASS!!!!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Hi Tech grass seed. The rain starts in about 45 minutes. I'm putting the seed down now. I'll take some photographs before and then as time progresses. I had to log a rating to submit this, So I picked the middle. Scott

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I'm buying this again and again I've been using this product to rejuvenate my yard. Believe me when I say I had NO grass. I just turned over the dirt, planted, and watered 2x day. In a week, I have lush grass all around my house. Outstanding results so far here in deep South Texas!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Do not waste your time Bought this seed as a temporary lawn until the spring. Followed directions from website and bag. Nothing germinated. I mean nothing. Hard to believe that grass seed that was already germinating in the bags would not germinate in the lawn. Very disappointed. This came highly recommended but I can't recommend it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Is there a reason Pennngton won't disclose seed Mx? I did all the right preparation - tilling, thatching, fertilizing, laying seed, I have spread plenty of seed (over $1,000 in seed). What seed did finally germinate and grow was thin and weak. I need to know what seed I've planted so I can supplement. But I can't find me word about what's in this mix. Why is that Pennngton? What's in the Mx?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good stuff This grass came up fast and is doing great months later. I have lots of clay and tried some other grass last year and could not get anything to grow but weeds. I put this down and it looks great. Will buy again

Rated 3 out of 5 by from What different types of grass is in the mix? What all different types of grass is in the mix. Needing to know so when I spray it for weeds it don't kill the grass.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from IT WORKS! Last year early March, April time frame my lawn was horrible. I mean, to the point where I felt the need to completely start over with just planting all new sod, but I figured what the heck, let me try a seeding and fertilizing process. It was so bad that I thought I would have to try and attack this from a professional commercial grade perspective and when I tell you my lawn is amazing looking right now is an understatement, this stuff really works. It appears to even keep the lawn looking good in the winter and warm months. I'm in Texas so imagine. I've tried the other stuff, this by far is much better.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I will be buying more [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I spread these seeds in my yards bald spots. Does very well even in shady spots. Started sprouting pretty quick. Really pretty grass
