Rated 1 out of 5 by from Junk! Hard to start, stalls out and starter pulley broke third time using it. It probably wouldnt have broken if it started in less than 5 pulls

Rated 1 out of 5 by from poor design I bought this item last year, and used it to trim my crepe myrtle trees (2 to be exact), pick it up in my work shop after draining the fuel. Pulled it out this year to trim the same trees and the starter pull rope came out on the six pull when i took it apart to fix it found that the plastic had broken can't seem to locate a replacement part, would not buy another

Rated 1 out of 5 by from ok at best i bought the chain saw a few months age and finally got a chance to use it. it started with no issues then died and seemed like it vapor locked so i let it sit for a few minutes. then went to start it again and the pull rope came out. The plastic starter mechanism broke and i've searched every where for the part and no luck.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Tougher than an M1 Abrams Tank About a year ago I bought a small overgrown farm. I bought this chainsaw thinking I would probably wear it out in a few weeks. LET ME TELL YOU!! This chainsaw has been ran for hours on end on numerous days, often out working me, I've cleared acres and acres of pines and cedars with it. On numerous occasions I've had falling trees pinch down on it, usually I just yank on it until it comes free, kind of like King Arthur Sword in The Stone style. I've had trees fall on it, no matter what I do it just starts right back up. If not for the safety features I'm pretty sure I would of cut several of my limbs off by now. Twice now I have accidentally put the chain oil in the gas tank and the gas in the oil tank! Both times I just drained the tanks filled them back up (correctly) and it started right back up. It has rolled down hills, nearly submerged in water, dunked in mud, fallen off my truck, and sustained other abuse. I even nick named it Rocky Balboa because it can take a beating and keep coming back for more.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from worked great until pulley broke Just like SEVERAL other similar reviews, the rope pulled right through the plastic pulley. 2 local tard equipment stores/repair centers, could not find this model saw, let alone the replacement part for this issue. What next?

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Starter pully broke. I purchased my PR4016 last year and used it only a few times. Never had trouble starting it and it cut well. While using it during storm clean up here in Wisconsin this past weekend the pull starter assembly broke. The plastic was broke where the cord is anchored into the recoil pulley.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Same problem as above. Hard start and broke pully Had this saw for just over a year with very little use. Hard to start and keep running. Adjusting helped some. Biggest issue is I also broke the starter pulley as so many above. Found the parts list here: http://www.poulanpro.com/us/support/owners-manuals/ and my model appears to need a 584 40 01-03 pulley, but I have been unable to source one online. If anyone finds a good source for cheap pulleys, please let me know. I'll probably need them in bulk for this saw.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not assembled correctly Spring for recoil was sticking out the bottom of saw. Did not notice until I tried to start. Now that I have put gas in it, I can’t return it to the store. No repair/warranty place within 45 min.
