Rated 4 out of 5 by from Rough start but it works great now. I bought this as a replacement for the opener I've had for almost 20 years. Liked the idea of battery backup. The install was easy but the travel control was bad out of the box. I could have returned it but since I had it installed, I called customer service. They had me try to set the travel again and read them the diag codes that flashed, then sent a new motor and control unit. Replacement was also easy and it works perfectly now. Not thrilled it took 5 business days to get the new motor but it works now so all is well that ends well. Would be 5 stars if it worked out of the box. Programming the travel was easy. Nice features and the control unit that is direct wired is a huge step up. Very quiet. Bought this on a reccomendation from a friend who had no out of box issues with his. MyQ app was also easy to set up on all our cell phones.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Homelink doesn't work with Toyota Highlandder I cannot believe this new Chamberlain garage door opener B970, does not work with the best selling SUV in America, Toyota Highlander. Instead I need to purchase a Bridge device to program my vehicle. What a joke.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Annoying whining sound while the motor is engaged. We had this opener installed a little over a month ago. We chose it because it was supposed to be very quiet, but it is not. The belt is fairly quiet, but the whole time the unit is in operation opening or closing the garage door, the motor makes a high pitched squealing noise which to me is like the sound of fingernails on a blackboard. I don't know if we got a defective unit. I see another similar complaint in the reviews. We had a Liftmaster belt drive opener before this which never made the whining noise. If it were not for the noise, we would be happy with the opener.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quiet But Slow (AC vs DC motors?) So far so good. Replaced 1/2 HP AC motor belt drive Lift Master. This DC motor is UNBELIEVABLY quiet compared to AC and operates altogether "softer". I have a 600 lb door (covered with cedar), and you can barely hear it operate. It is a good bit slower than the AC on the up and down, which they advertise as easier on the door components, but may be just a limitation of DC? I'll get used to it. The rail is box-shaped and segmented (you snap together), as opposed to continuous solid T-shape rail with Lift Master. Guessing this is for shipping purposes. Lift Master comes from authorized dealers as opposed to big box store shipping for Chamberlain. Segmented rail appears to have more flex, but I can't be sure, and don't know if that really matters as it shouldn't be that stressed if the door is properly lubricated and sprung, etc. Installation instructions are well thought out, for a change. Programming keypad from the "learn" button on the opener didn't work. Had to use the wall remote to program, which is easier anyway. No need for the Bluetooth BS. Make sure to buy rail extension kit for taller doors. If it lasts, it will remain a 5.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent replacement for Craftsman opener I needed to either repair or replace my 5 year old Craftsman opener. A new logic board was about $100 and this new opener with all the features I wanted was $268 and I didn't have to wait on a part. Great choice! This opener was very easy to install in place of my Craftsman. All I had to do was put it together and install it where the other one was. I didn't need to run new wiring or even replace the sensors on the door tracks. Also, my old remotes were easily programmed using the garage door opener control menu. This unit is very quiet and at 1 1/4 horsepower, it should have plenty of power to lift my heavy (140 mph hurricane rated) double garage door.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Unable to pair with my Homelink '07 Accord Easy install, very quiet but impossible to pair with my Homelink equipped 2007 Accord and using the add-on, scab fix compatibility bridge. Frustrated beyond belief, as it should not be this difficult and it is not brain surgery. Although, programming went smoothly for my MY '15 and '18 vehicles. Wish I could box it up and return it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice Opener I purchased this opener to replace the 13+ year old Chamberlain opener (When I bought my house) that broke the sprocket off the drive motor. This wasn't my first install job and after laying out all the pieces the instructions were kind of hard to follow especially with the digital adjustment procedure. Other than changing the header and door brackets because they were different than my old chain drive it was a straight forward installation. I did ding it a star because of the instructions and the fact that I can't program my 2005 Suburban Home Link opener. The outside of the box says nothing about compatibility issues with older vehicles. It's not until you have it completely installed and go to the programming section that it mentions this. My 2014 Ram programmed flawlessly using the remote control that came with the opener and all 5 of our smart phones work with the app. So far I'm pleased with this opener.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Replaced 20 year old screw drive Lift Master Replaced 20 year old screw drive Lift Master with screw drive with a new belt drive Chamberlain B970 and I can't believe how much quieter the new opener is. Now I can't decide whether I want the other old opener to fail so I can replace it. Really good product but it is so quiet I'm not sure the door is opening before I begin back the car out. I was, however, disappointed I couldn't open the door with my builtin Honda opener.
