The Premium ChickenGuard automatically opens your chicken coop door in the morning and closes it at night. It is our most popular ChickenGuard. It protects your chickens from foxes and other predators and saves you the bother of getting up at cock crow or trudging out to the chicken coop on dark and stormy nights. It comes with a 3 year peace of mind warranty (though they last a lot longer). We know it works because each unit is tested in the factory in Britain, including the electronics. The Premium ChickenGuard has both a timer and light sensor, which you can set, to activate the chicken coop door mechanism. It runs on 4 AA batteries and has a warning light to let you know when the batteries are low. The ChickenGuard simply mounts on the exterior of your chicken coop, and the user friendly 3-button design and clear LCD display makes it simple to use. The electronics are enclosed in a weather proof casing.

Works as advertised, easy to set up.
Works as advertised. Easy set-up. Beware setting door closing time too late in evening though. I took the auto-closer off of light sensor mode and set it to close about 15 min. after sunset, thinking predators wouldn't be out that early. I was wrong and we lost 8 chicks. My fault, not auto door closer. The bad news for the coon, however, was that the door closed during the middle of his killing spree and I found him (with the dead chicks) trapped. It didn't end well for the coon. I helped him find his way to the maggot bucket, allowing the surviving chickens to feast off his own bodily sacrifice, in the end.
