Rated 4 out of 5 by from Repeat Customer This is a good product and a fair price. 100% Neatsfoot oil is a tried and true leather conditioner. I've used it for 50 years, mostly on leather boots, moccasins, knife sheaths, quivers, and gloves. Many waterproofing products such as Mink Oil and Sno-Seal, and silicone products are compatible with neatsfoot oil conditioned leather and, in my opinion, seem to work all the better for it. I apply it liberally on non-insulated boots, but with on insulated boots I go lighter because you only want to condition the leather and don't want to apply it so heavily that it soaks it into the insulation. Remember that it is an animal oil and as with any oil it will darken the color of the leather. It has a leather-like "tallowish" scent which I find appropriate for leather products but might not seem so pleasant to the uninitiated. And it does soften leather so it can allow it to stretch. It is not a waterproofing and isn't meant to be.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Treated leather boots that where stored since the 1960s. Made the leather pliable and soft enough to get on the foot again.
